Because I like predicting the future, and with the hope that this thread gets merged with the asinine one of a dubiously similar name floating around the blog, I will say the Celtics win in 6.  This comes with a few minor adjustments, namely a return to the help defense and defensive glasswork that brought us to the show.  With Perkins likely suspended, Big Bad Leon Powe will have to step in and provide the muscle, while PJ Brown will finally get to fill the role he was brought here to do, be the defensive big to step in when there's foul trouble/injury.  Celtics win at home and then beat the Hawks in the ATL and we move on.... that's my future and I like how it sounds

i also agree that perk will probably be suspended but, what about the backup PG situation, what do you predict there?  House, Cassell, both, rondo playing about 42 mins, a TA sighting anywhere?

Thank goodness.  I was getting worried that the Hawks might actually make a series of this.

Tough call, Sam's done nothing, House has done nothing, Rondo's been very solid, though shot selection is a little questionable at times, I'd rather have defensive guys than offensive guys as the role players, so instead of Sam or House, perhaps you give TA or Posey extra minutes and let Ray and Paul bring it up... its a very tough call but consistency is key

that's impossible, the power of my post will negate the power of the post stating the series was already lost - worst case we just created a black hole somewhere in the universe and some unassuming aliens on a leisurely joyride got sucked in, but besides that we should win now

I agree, Celts in 6.  And yes, I am a homer!  ;D

Here's my take on the Game 6 win:

I was never much for Doc slagging, as I think he did a great job all around this year with helping to mold this gang of hungry vets, promising youngsters and sundry sharpshooters into an Ubuntu-fest that really kicked ass during the regular season.  What he's done during the postseason that has most ticked me off has been pointed out by many (even Tommy Heinsohn!), which is, he's tried to re-write the playbook that got them here in the first place.  Still, I can't believe that after last night he won't see the error of this line of action and right this ship.  So, I'm going to hope and pray that he lets these guys execute the type of tight defense/breakaway offense that made them league leaders instead of trapping them in the tired Pistons clone halfcourt game that they looked like over the last couple of games. Doc, let 'em run!  If he does, then the C's will be more than ok.  Which brings me to my second thought...

The Garden will be OFF THE HOOK on Wednesday.  I'm psyched about this for two reasons.  1. I scored some $35 nosebleeds today and 2. With the crowd behind them, the C's have the opportunity to CRUSH THE HAWKS.  To win this series, the C's need to play the C's game to a T and crush the air out of Atlanta's lungs.  These kids have been riding on adrenaline and, not to take away from their amazing athletic ability, they are using this charge to play far over their heads.  Crush their spirit and you've got a fair fight in Game 6.

And the C's can win a fair fight if they get their heads screwed on right.

After ripping the guys earlier today, I am now hopeful that if they feel anything like I do after last night, regardless of a Perk suspension, there will be total focus going forward...especially in Atlanta.

Yep, I see it the same way...

That was then, this is now and the future, where we will be looking back as fans seeing the 6 game series, and moving on!

I think Rondo has played alright but with the shot blockers the hawks have i think he is a little timid about finishing so he is not looking to shoot like he usually does. When he drives and kicks out has been effective. I don't like the way same is playing in this serious and i don't thinl the match ups favor him. as for E House i have not seen enough of him in the series to have much of an opinion. I know his ball handleing is not as good as Cassell but he seems to try to run the offense  more the Sam. I would like to see Doc give T.A. more minutes he can take it to the hoop and i think his defense can help.

All i want to see is fire in the eyes of our Boys in Green!!! they need to stop playing like they are already written in for the second round... if joe johnson is doing this to us, what is King James going to do?

Nonetheless... GO GET EM CELTS!!!

ps someone posted something like this earlier, and i agree that the taste of victory is going to be much sweeter on the road in game 6!

I think Rondo has been one of the better ones about continuing to go hard into the paint looking to shoot

Clearly Who is right here. Rondo is taking it into the paint, the only problem is that the Hawks want Rondo to shoot more-from everywhere. His shot volume has continued to go up the past few games and our offense has slowed down production. 8)

Im not one to predict the future, but i like the sound of these words, especially the last statement. It could be that simple, win at home, win  in ATL...move on.This is the best thought ive read all day.

I would love for the C's to win in 6, but the only way that is going to happen is if Tommy gives Donny the boot and dusts off his place on the charter to ATL for game 6. I know Tommy's wife is sick, but its one game, we need the old codger to be buggin out on the refs, instead of Donny's "When i "played" for those great Nets teams...", i dont need to remind anyone that those teams beat the C's en route to the finals.
