Payton "Jalen Brunson 2.0" Pritchard sure is living up to his billing, lol.

Robinson looks slow and out of shape.  Our big rotation was supposed to be a strength.  It's not, because this guy can't play.

Those are the biggest problems with this team so far this year.  Hugo's apparent lack of development over the offseason is a disappointment as well but at least we have other rotation-level wings to absorb that blow.  But we need Pritchard and Robinson to help us beat good teams and they aren't.

hugo shoulda been dealt with brown and picks for giannis. how dumb does brad feel now? supposedly hugo was the deal breaker? omg. smh

Him and/or Baylor. It?s asinine either way. This is what happens when GMs fall in love with their draft picks.

And now Giannis is struggling in his new team getting waxed by the Lakers tonight. Wasted potential.

I think that story about Hugo being the dealbreaker is untrue. Giannis was really pushing for Miami.

It sounds like Milwaukee wanted Baylor/Hugo and significantly more draft capital. The framing that I've seen of "Baylor or Hugo was the dealbreaker" is fairly disingenuous.

And I say that as someone who personally would have done Brown + Hugo + Baylor + 3 firsts.

I think the validity of the idea that  Brad just had to include Baylor and Hugo has been debated here a number of times. I haven?t seen any evidence of it and the closest I?ve seen is a report that describes it as you do, that it was Baylor, Hugo and more draft capital. And that was a reporter who I believe also indicated Brad was still in negotiation mode when Milwaukee made the deal with Miami.  And yes it seemed that Miami was the destination desired by Giannis.  Either way, the thing that seems pretty certain to me is that it wasn?t as simple as just including Baylor and Hugo for the deal to be done.

I also don?t think we have a disaster in Q or Garza in their particular roles. MR should be a 15-20 minutes backup.  As a starting center Q isn?t the force we want in that role but as a backup he?s just fine. The Cs got destroyed inside last night but there were other variables at play that cost the Cs. I agree that if we had an all-star in the center rotation it would be better but wasn?t that obvious before the season? Holding their own v teams who DO have all-star bigs is all you can hope (which they didn?t), and being away on the SNBTB when your best shooters are 0-10 from three and DW gives you nothing, and JT is off the mark, and PG isn?t playing, your center rotation becomes only a contributing reason for the loss, and not really the primary reason.

That was a tough one to watch.  It just had air of inevitability to it.

Yes

I think what Shams reported was BOS offered Brown + 2 firsts.  Then MIL asked to add Hugo and Scheierman and additional picks (plural).  I guess we will continue to hear this narrative of how they would not trade Hugo for Giannis until the end of time.

I think there's some truth to it.  The true part (seemingly): Brad never included Hugo in a counteroffer.  The unknown part: what, in addition to Hugo, would Milwaukee have accepted?    The report was something like Hugo and/or BS plus additional draft assets.  That doesn't necessarily mean another #1, but it might.

I will say, I don't buy the "Giannis only was interested in Miami" narrative.  That was his reported preference, but every report out there was that he was also interested in Boston. If he wasn't, I don't think that Miami would have paid the price that they did.

Except for the part where Shams specifically mentions those two players.

Charania appeared on the Pat McAfee Show, where he claimed that the story regarding Cs ownership not being willing to offer a third year is a false report.

The Celtics did not want to give up Hugo Gonzalez and/or Baylor Scheierman and another draft asset when the Bucks asked for that, Charania said. For my reporting, that was the breakdown in that conversation.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

This loss isnt on Joe.

Absolutely 0 help around Tatum. 39% FG will not cut it. And Sengun embarrassed all our bigs tonight.

It is still early but I hope Mitchell Robinson eventually shows some life out there. Pritchard has also been in a slump outside of Bulls games. Anyway, only the 7th game of the season. I think we will have a better idea who this team is after 12 games.
