This is a money grab and only acts to water down a great sporting event...

But this got me thinking and I have a Tourney reform that I really like.

Instead of changing the 64 game "Tourney" the NCAA should either reform the NIT or replace it with the following.

Create a 32 team tournament for "Mid Majors" separate from the main "Tourney". Any team that doesn't make the field of 64, are not from a power conference, and is under a set NIL spending limit (2.5 mill?) is eligible. Where this gets fun/interesting is that I would grant the winner an auto non play in big to the following seasons field of 64 and 1.5 million dollars to add to their NIL fund.

My hope would be a to see a team win the field of 32 then knowing a NCAA bid is set they can use the influx of NIL cast to retain/add players for the following season. Know the team has a bid already would be a great recruiting pitch and creates a high water mark for the mid majors who simply cant keep up with the NIL spending of the top teams.
