Tough loss.

Obviously hurts that Brown only went 7-14 from the line, if he shoots his season average he'd go 11-14 and its a completely different game.

Also hurts they shot 26% from three. Detroit shot 36%. A team that shoots 10% less from three will almost always lose.

Also want to point out the refs missed a goal tend on a Brown fats break, which kind of ended up being big later in the game.

Unhappy loss, but competitive most of the game. Missed threes hurt them again.   PP way off on a bunch.  Minott not a strong night - would love to see a solid performance from him, get some confidence back. Jordan played well.  Q needs some help but I feel comfortable with him on the court.  JBs missed FTs hurt.

I don?t see how Brown can be a top player in the league if he can?t hit free throws? 7 for 14? 2 big misses in the last minute? I just don?t get it

We need contributions from JWalsh and Minott to really compete. It?s what?s been missing this game.

Why didn't JWalsh start the second half?

14 points off the bench isn't nearly good enough for this team to win games.

Cs need another big that can play in the 3rd and 4th quarter.  Small ball didn't work tonight.

Good competitive game.  Cade is good.  Wouldn't have minded if he shot closer to his norm on those threes, lol.  Any time that dude sticks 60% of his three balls, you're going to have a rough time.

JB was excellent but gotta make those free throws.

Really didn't like the game Pritchard played tonight, and I've slowly soured on his defense in general as the year has progressed.  IMO he's a very poor off-ball defender.

Frustrating game. How do we go on a 14-0 run and then allow Detroit a 16-2 right back at us.
Will we ever add some additional offensive patterns with some off-ball movement/screening when the 3's are not falling ?
Probably not. Mazzulla is too stubborn - He's gonna prove his way is right or go down losing.

14 points off the bench isn't nearly good enough for this team to win games.

It's just the consistency of the depth pieces...we had Simons score 9 points on 3-9 shooting, 0-5 from 3, and the rest of the bench was 2-8. Our bench was 1-12 from 3. Pistons bench was 18-41 - they took 32 more shots than our bench did. On average our bench goes 13 of 35 from the floor and scores 35 points. Hauser has been dismal lately and Simons is hit or miss.

Simons has generally been in the 64th %ile when it comes to points per shot attempt, but Hauser has been abysmal this season, ranking in the bottom 5% of wings in PSA.

And compare that with his previous years when he was generally in the 88th-96th %ile in PSA. I have to look at the stats to see how often he would come on with Tatum still on the court but he's struggling with the increased defensive attention this season.

I guess the 3-day breaks aren?t helping.

I got a stat for that too  :police:

We are 1-2 when we have 3+ days rest. We are 2-4 when we have 2+ days. Our shooting splits FG%/3FG% of 43%/31% after 3+ days rest are the worst, compared to SEGABABAs where we shoot 48%/39%. On the plus side, we turn the ball over the least, but we also have the least assists.

Our defense also suffers after 3 days of rest - opposing teams shoot 50%/41% against us, vs 41%/36% on SEGABABAs. We allow an average of 117 points on 3+ days rest, vs 106 on SEGABABAs.

More SEGABABAs?
