Gulp, Steelers are up 28-3.

Is it time for the next greatest comeback in NFL history in the Dolphins?!

Tua in the cold weather is a puddle. About to be 4-14 when it's BELOW 55 degrees and 0-6 when it's below 40. And I'm pretty sure 3 of those 4 wins were all against the putrid Jets in recent years.

It's not just the record, he just looks like he doesn't want to be there and doesn't even try to throw really. Not a great look.

Maybe the GM change in Miami helps and they add serious talent this offseason but idk, they are stuck with Tua's 53M AAV contract for 2 more years and he's just not it. I don't even think Mike McDaniels is bad but he can't do much either.

I thought Tua has always owned the Patriots (at least until this past Sept) so one or two of those wins must be against them lol

Surprisingly no lol. And yeah it annoyed me we could almost never beat Tua, but those were also the Mac Jones/Zappe years with Parker as our #1 WR and Belichick also losing his fastball. And those games were often lost because our own offense could barely put up points against their D

Seahawks are dangerous.

38-37 final OT. Seattle goes for 2 to win the game in OT.

For now, Seattle is the #1 seed and also clinches playoff berth.

I have a question about that play. Upon review, the officials realized that Darnold's attempt was a backwards pass, and thus a fumble and a live ball. This is the correct ruling, but I also noticed during the play that at least one official blew his whistle right before Charbonnet recovered the ball in the end zone -- wouldn't that result in a dead ball and thus eliminate the recovery in the end zone (and the two points)?

Listen man. The refs change (or make up) the rules every game and no one knows anything these days  :P

Here's the rule:

Quote
When an on-field ruling is incomplete, and the pass was clearly backward, the ball will be awarded at the spot of recovery to the team that recovers the ball in the immediate continuing action. If there is no clear recovery, the ball will be awarded to the team last in possession at the spot where possession was lost."

Since ZC made a clear recovery, it's a good call.

I agree that the call was, in a vacuum, correct, but I thought that a whistle means the play is dead, and I heard a whistle. Do they just ignore whistles in those situations?

It's actually addressed.

Football rules PSA:

Allow me to provide insight into what I believe is the most misunderstood aspect of officiating/rules.

The "whistle" is irrelevant to the ruling in every situation unless it is erroneous (NFL) or inadvertent (College). In non-erroneous situations, it is simply used to alert everyone that the official has acknowledged the play is dead by rule.

In the specific cases of fumbles or backward passes when incorrectly ruled down by contact or incomplete forward pass, respectively, Replay rules allow the ball to be awarded to the recovering team if that recovery is in the immediate continuing action.

When or if the whistle is sounded is completely irrelevant.
