Intriguing player. Turned 23 yesterday. 6?5/210lb guard. Averaged 15pts/6rebs/4ast with 44/39/78 shooting splits. Well rounded player. Looks like he has better handles than Baylor. Some nice one on one moves.

Scouting report:

Strengths:
* Deadeye catch-and-shoot threat, hit 43.4% on catch-and-shoot threes and 40.2% on nearly 400 total 3PA over last two seasons.

* NBA range with consistency, drilled 40% of his threes from beyond 25 feet.

* Crafty scorer with elite change of pace, great use of jab steps, hang dribbles, up-fakes, and body control to draw fouls (5.4 FTA/game).

* High-level touch and creativity at the rim, finished 56.3% at the basket and uses crafty gathers to avoid rim protectors.

* Smart, unselfish playmaker, 4.0 APG vs 1.7 TOV; not a high-risk passer but accurate and decisive.

* Off-ball mover with purpose, understands spacing and relocation, hits movement threes off screens and handoffs.

* Effective attacking closeouts, has counters, spins, and eurosteps to finish or create shots.

* High feel on defense, good anticipation, active hands (1.8 SPG), and strong team rotations.

* Willing on-ball defender, picks up full court, fights through screens, and applies pressure.

* Underrated rebounder for a guard, averaged 5.9 boards per game by reading angles and hustling.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Like this pick better than Williams and Hugo.

Probably will spend a few years in Maine but he was pretty good at VCU and he can shoot.

Welcome Max! I Was wondering when somebody was going to create the thread, so TP to you.

I?ll enjoy checking Maine Celtics highlights to see how he and Amari are playing.

I?m glad they expanded to three 2-way contracts so more young players get a chance to develop and actually get paid real money and not just G-League money

This surely sounds like a Payton Pritchard scouting report.

At least he has hope of being an NBA player.

i doubt he turns out to be as good as JD. i read the shulga is NOT an nba athlete so his defense will be a problem.

but what the heck, i will cheer him on and hope for the best.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Watched some highlights. Not sure he is an NBA player or not, but not a bad player to have on a two-way.

Atlantic 10 Player of the Year. The A10 is good league - and he beat out Fleming who they supposedly wanted at 32. He'll be fun to watch with Maine at least.

Max looks like a guy who will be easy to root for.  Great shooter, plays smart, hustles, has decent size.
Congrats to him on the 2 way deal!

Totally different players. They don?t even play the same position. Shulga is comparable to Scheierman.
