New Orleans has swap rights with Milwaukee in 2026 and 2027. Those are suddenly much more valuable,  especially to Milwaukee. They also have the projected 4th pick in the upcoming draft.

Could they swing some sort of multi-team deal that sends out Zion, McCollum, Murray, and these picks, and lands Giannis and another star?

I feel like Houston is giving up a lot more than other teams here (unless Green's value has really crashed from the poor series he's having).

Houston is giving up its best 2 players, while every other team here gets to keep its top guys to pair with Giannis. OKC gets to keep all of Shai, Jalen Williams, and Holmgren?

Orlando is also giving up a ton.  Franz Wagner, 4 firsts and two distant-future swaps?  Compare that to Atlanta.

Ya there's definitely a huge volume of picks going out for Orlando, and Atlanta's deal probably involves them selling high on Risacher (#1 pick!), but I just don't know about the value of Orlando's picks with Giannis and 23 year old Paulo still around.

Or course that's what Brooklyn thought when they gave up 3 unprotected picks and 4 swaps for Harden, or what Phoenix thought when they gave up 4 unprotected picks for Durant, so who knows how any of those future picks actually turns out.

But if you put all the picks on the table, I think the PHX '27 or '29 (plus the unmentioned DAL '29 also controlled by HOU) is more valuable as of now than any other picks being offered in these hypotheticals.

(But also very much depends on what happens with Durant this summer too, but my forecast there is doom and gloom for PHX).

Also I think of all the players being offered, I think the Houston duo are both in the top 3 (w/ Franz being the other).

Also, would Giannis even want to go to any of those teams? Houston wouldn?t be a contender with that trade. Same with San Antonio. OKC would have to give up Jalen Williams. Otherwise that?s a terrible trade. Detroit, Atlanta, Orlando make the most sense. Hope he doesn?t end up in Orlando. That would be a problem. Anthony, Suggs, Banchero, Giannis, Carter.

Yeah, I was surprised by that too. F Wagner + 4 firsts + two swaps. That is a huge amount to give up for Giannis who will turn 31 in the first half of next season. Giannis is too old to be giving up that much.

Giannis going to the West would be insane. Make that conference even more elite

If ORL or DET traded for him that'd be crazy though. A Giannis-Cade or Giannis-Banchero duo, I hate to say it, would definitely rival Jaylen-Tatum and certainly be another contender.

I hope he goes Houston or San Antonio.

San Antonio is fun to think about, a Wemby-Giannis-Fox Big 3 in the West is bonkers

I don't think his playoff series against Golden State has altered Jalen Green's trade value. I think it was already low and has been low for a long time now.

I would say his trade value is more comparable to Tyler Herro's trade value a few years ago. Or Anfernee Simons a few years ago. Not A Simons or T Herro today but 2 years ago.

I would say Jalen Green's trade value is worth a quality starter. I don't think he could net a star player in return. I would think someone more like Jalen McDaniels. That type of ball park.

What did you think Jalen Green was worth in trade market?

Jalen Green's Game

Jalen Green has a lot of doubters because of how uneven his game is. He puts up a lot of points but he does so inefficiently. 54.4% TS% this season which is on par for what he has done for each of his 4 seasons in the league. About 3% below league average TS%.

He is a limited passer. For a guy who has the ball in his hands as much as he does, he is a below average passer. 3.4apg vs 2.5 turnovers. This low assist numbers despite being asked to be their primary ball-handler while VanVleet was out. Jalen Green's inability to run the offense while VanVleet was a big reason why Houston struggled so much without VanVleet. Jalen Green is not a guy who plays off-ball a lot (like Klay Thompson). He is an on-ball creator. And for an on-ball creator, those passing numbers are not good enough. Not for a guy who wants to take 16-18 FGAs a game and score 20ppg.

So a lot of offensive issues despite his gaudy stat lines.

Then you to the defensive side. It is not like he is a stopper. He has improved. He was one of the weaker defensive SGs in the league and he has become adequate / serviceable. Although I would still say he is below average defensively. Houston hides him on weaker offensive players. He doesn't do much as a team defender. He lacks physical strength and gets outmuscled on drives.

I don't think there will be many teams out there willing to give up a large sum in a trade for him.
