Looking ahead though, Brad is gonna have to really hit on a draft pick or maybe trade a few future ones for another cheap rotational guy. Horford is nearly 40 years old, Jrue is gonna be 35 and Porzingis is also injury prone. Plus all the luxury tax ramifications.

I know there was some personal stuff with Filipowski that probably swayed some teams away (the situation of his "grooming") but he's been decent for Utah and has looked really good the last few weeks. Some 20-point games. He's a 7 foot big who can shoot. This team could have used that as a future building block instead of Scheierman IMO

Yeah it?s a tough one. I can?t blame Brad for Tillman and Scheirman really. The 2 way guys I also can?t blame him too much. I wish they stuck with Walker over Springer. Springer was definitely a big whiff and has hurt them in many ways. If Brad converts Peterson to a full contract I will be very disappointed. I do not see any potential in him and that is going to be another wasted roster spot next season.

Then again, couldn't we have used Springer vs Cleveland last night for some strong defensive minutes in the 4th quarter ?
We blow a 20-point lead and Joe (as usual) plays the starters into the ground, which can hurt their defensive effort and drain legs which impacts shooting late.
We missed several shots in the 4th when Cleveland was pulling 3-pointers out of their ass.
Not sure moving Springer to save money when the team is in a titles-now mode was a good idea.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

I think Craig is a better fit for our needs than Springer.  Maybe not vs CLE, but in general. Both are fringe NBA players.

Of course, we could have had both.  Or Craig and Javonte Green.

Do you think Springer makes any difference in the CLE game?  He was deemed a wasted roster spot by most every one.

I think a guy like than can theoretically make a difference, although probably not on a Joe-coached team.  But, assuming that Joe would have used him against CLE, I think he could have made life harder on Mitchell or Garland.

wow. that is a bit of a shock. brad usually hangs to drafted player and makes a project out of them. watson must really have had troubles to be let go so quickly. too bad i had hopes he might be a credible player. which is why i am not president of the celtics....thankfully.

EDIT: watson wasn't terrible in maine. He "has been playing fairly well at the G League level, averaging 12.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.0 steals per 29.9 minutes a game in the 37 G League contests he has played with the Maine Celtics."

Maybe there is someone else out there that they want to sign to a two way contract. And they had to waive Anton Watson to free up a spot to sign that other player.

I've seen a few other teams do this over the last week or two.

Just posted to the other thread, but apparently it was to sign Miles Norris from MEM. Looks like he's a solid shooter with size at the wing spot

Basketball reference lists him as  a 6?10? 220 pound power forward.    I never heard of him.

mazzula seems to give queta irregular playing time. i assume it the result of a combination of limited skills and particular match ups. but when he plays he does seem to do well.
