Raptors did well in 2020 during their title defense led by Nurse; they had the 2-seed and went 7 games with the Celtics in the bubble run. The C's overcame the Raptors at the end.

I think the problem is Embiid and his attitude. He's ran Brett Brown out of town, and then Doc Rivers. Also, front office culture doesn't help either bringing all these divas onboard like James Harden, Ben Simmons, Jimmy Butler, now Paul George etc. Overpaying for Tobias Harris at the time. Signing Al Horford where the fitting was nonsensical lol.

I wouldn't have minded Nick Nurse as a coaching candidate post-Udoka firing.

Not to turn this into a coaching debate but it is funny to me how certain coaches become overrated and then fall back to earth.  There were a lot of calls on here around Nick Nurse, if we only had someone like him instead of Mazzulla.  Mike Malone was a another one.  Now it is Mark Daigneault (which is deserved).  The Udoka love is there.

I think Nick Nurse is a perfectly fine coach.  But he is not making lemonade out of these lemons.

There aren't many "elite" coaches in the NBA. More often than not, coaches are remembered for being terrible or doing poorly in their final "moments" with a team before getting inevitably fired.

I like Mazzulla but if I had the choice, I'd take Nick Nurse over him. The drama which is on the other thread here is, I might still take Mazzulla over Ime. But ultimately it's not a huge difference or debate, it's not like we're debating Mazzulla vs. Popovich or Spoelstra. I don't put Nurse in that elite category either. Not many guys are.

I mean Kerr gets a lot of praise but come on, we all know he benefits from stacked rosters in both the Warriors and the Olympics. When they hit any adversity or lose a key player to injury he suddenly has no clue what to do either. The Butler trade might just save that Warriors team this year, but before then he had no answers either.

These next 4 games need to be the Celtics focused and ready to play. Need to see the team that showed up in NYC.

Feels like forever since we've seen the full starting lineup.

C's white jerseys look beautiful.

Still I hate this thing where the home team wears their away jerseys and the away team wears their home jerseys. Just do it right.

I love Quintin Grimes in the 76ers starting lineup.

I think this is their best lineup. Grimes & Oubre give them a good lift in their quickness & athleticism. In their defensive quickness. Grimes is a good outside shooter too to spread the floor for their Big 3.

Happy to see him get the nod as a starter.

Jrue looks more spry. The long rest probably did him good.
