The Los Angeles Clippers are trading Terance Mann and Bones Hyland to the Atlanta Hawks for Bogdan Bogdanovic and three second-round picks, sources tell ESPN.

I'd rather have Terrance Mann than Bogdanovic.

Mann is a good long term fit next to Trae Young. Another strong defensive player. A big athletic long defensive two way wing. Exactly what Trae needs. Not a one-way offensive SG like Bogdanovic.

Yeah. This gets the Cavs no closer to beating the Celtics in a 7 game series.

Hunter is still a big upgrade for them. Niang gets cooked often and LeVert just isn't the same guy anymore. But that said, Cleveland's biggest issue I feel is sometimes Garland as that 2nd option. Even last year's postseason I felt a big reason we won was because Garland didn't play good and he struggles against our defense. Mitchell can't do it alone, they need Garland to step it up in the postseason too if they want to make a Finals run. Their frontcourt is good/loaded enough.

Even in the Knicks series two years ago, there were others that struggled but while Garland wasn't bad, he also wasn't as good as he should have been either.

I think its an upgrade, but worth noting Lavert was shooting 40% from three on the year. I think he was unlikely to stay that hot all year through the playoffs, so its probably an upgrade shooting wise going forward, but LaVert had been good for Cleveland.

As a defender Hunter more looks the part than is actually good. He's fine, but he isn't a game changer.

Am I the only one who believes in CLE lol? I obviously hope I'm wrong but right now I might still lean CLE in 7 over Boston when you factor in HCA. Our H2Hs have been pretty close this season and if CLE stays healthy they have a pretty loaded 9-man rotation.

It would be a very fun series.

I wish Boston could bolster it's bench a little. I do worry about Hauser's back issues and also, do we have a 3rd playoff big? Idk if Kornet/Queta are capable beyond the 1st round.

Cavs only win this year over the Cs was without JB and White and it took Mitchell carrying them to get the win.
I just do not see them winning in the playoffs. HCA is meaningless. Boston is the best road team in the NBA and has won like 3 of the last 4 games in Cleveland.

Do agree that the Cs bench needs something.

He doesn't need to be. He has Evan Mobley and Jarett Allen behind him. Just being an average defender at SF with those guys there is a big improvement. Especially over Max Strus who was badly overmatched physically at SF.

The same Mobley that disappears often against the Celtics?

Disappears offensively? Yes
Disappears defensively? No.

That is why DeAndre Hunter matters. He gives them more offensive firepower. More cover for E Mobley and for D Garland both of whom go on disappearing acts offensively from time to time.
