Please end this today.  Same goes for the Cubbies too.

Since Game 3 of the 2004 ALCS the Red Sox are 9-1 in the playoffs against the Yankees!  Let's make it 10-1 and move on.
Yup

At the risk of being on "Old Takes exposed" after the game... my gut feeling is we are gonna tee off on Rodon and put up runs against him. Just need to hope Bello can be solid on the other side.

NYY +1.5 runs is currently paying +130.  So it is coming down but NYY is still a fairly heavy favorite to win tonight, at least according to bettors.  But they were favored last night too.

This is a big moment for Bello, potentially too big.  We shall see.  But way more pressure on NYY and Rodon.  Rodon 2.61 ERA in Sept, Bello 5.40 ERA in Sept, but pretty good vs. TOR last time out and is fully rested (as is Rodon).  Can see why bettors like NYY in this one.

I am too superstitious to make predictions, especially with baseball where any team can win on any given night.  Someone you never heard of can hit a 3-run homer.  It is a tough game for the Sox, everything points Yankees, but let's see if Cora can keep everyone loose and make some magic happen.

not sure who I'd prefer to face my Brewers -- Cubs or Padres.  Sadly, I expect either one will knock them out in the Brewer tradition of getting knocked out in the first round of the playoffs they play in.

side note, the Brewers having the best record in baseball this year with a team devoid of All-Star talent, nevermind MVP or Cy Young candidates, is a clear indictment on the quality of talent in MLB.  A team of mediocre players able to parlay that mediocrity into producing just enough scoring and pitching to win games while avoiding long losing streaks during the season.  It wasn't until after their last long win streak that their mediocrity eventually cratered and they limped their way into the post season.
