Indy not finding anyone to step up off the bench. They need Mathurin or Toppin to come good but neither are playing well.

McConnell has had to replace Hali and he is doing well. But they have nobody to replace McConnell off the bench and their 2 other main bench weapons are struggling. They got like 5 players right now. And Nesmith isn't doing much. M Turner is still struggling. 3 players effectively. McConnell, Siakam and Nembhard. It is hard to have an enough with only 3 players.

I definitely did not think McConnell would end up being this good when he was on Philly.
Me either. I wasn't sure he was even an NBA caliber player when he first showed up. Then he looked NBA caliber but only a 3rd stringer. Then he graduated again to low level backup to high end 3rd stringer. I thought he reached his ceiling when he hit that level. But he just kept on getting better. An average primary backup PG. Then an above average backup PG. Now one of the top backup PGs in the league.

Tremendous growth throughout his NBA career. Guy is clearly a hard worker.

NBA officiating is such crap. McConnell is literally drawing the same contact as SGA with different results.

Refs are completely letting OKC get away with whatever they can dish out.

I would try not to get cocky OKC.  Indy?s been sneaking back throughout the playoffs.  13 points isn?t enough.

The score was 66-70 OKC lead after TJ McConnell hit a baseline pull up J with under 4 minutes to play in Q3.

Since then OKC has outscored Indy 14-2 in the last 5min of game time to build a 16pt lead.

Siakam was invisible in that Q3.

It was the TJ McConnell show. He was the only one keeping Indy in it. Siakam has to step up. He is the best player on the team. Nembhard, Nesmith and M Turner have got to chip and help too.

A lot of that damage came when Indy sat Nembhard. They took him out at 3:19 to play Q3. The score was still 66-70. They brought Nembhard back in at 0:35 Q3. OKC was up 79-68.

Indy had trouble bringing the ball up court and getting into their offense without a 2nd ball-handler out there. TJ had a stupid turnover at midcourt. Toppin took it up the next time, didn't run offense, drove instead, then forced a shot. Miss.

The lineup was McConnell - Sheppard - Nesmith - Toppin - T Bradley.

At least after those two disaster plays they took out T Bradley and brought in Mathurin. So Toppin as the lone big. Then 3 wings with limited handles / passing. One ball-handler. Score was 75-66. OKC win the final 2:20 at a score of 4-3 to make it 79-68.

They cannot afford to play only 1 ball-handler. It is too big of a risk agains this trapping OKC defense that is so good at forcing mistakes / turnovers.

Nembhard and McConnell gotta stay on the court the rest of the way.

Aghh! 8-0 start to Q4 by OKC to push an 13pt lead to 21pts.

Still no sign of Siakam in the 2nd half. Vanishing act.

The only offense Indy had in the 2nd half was TJ McConnell playing 1-on-1 basketball.

Nothing else going on for Indiana.
