He's not summer league caliber, let alone NBA caliber.

Queta looked good. Nice D by Walsh. Peterson knows how to get open. Rest of the team wasn't great.

He is about the starting level of a smaller secondary college division II basketball.  Somebody who had better get his college degree .  No one is coming calling at his door from NBA . He is not even a scrub

Lakers are a pathetic run organization.

Father is making a joke out of his son.

I didn't get to see the game (past my bedtime).  Based on the comments and the box score, looks like there was some improvement for Walsh and Peterson, not so much for most of the others.

I am not surprised that Springer didn't play.  He is not going to get better playing against summer league talent.  I kind of feel the same about Queta.  Maybe they just want more of a chance to see them play.

I am not concerned about Walsh hitting shots.  I like the rebounds and steals.  I am a little more worried about Scheierman going 1-7.  He is going to need to make shots.  Peterson was 4-8 from 3.  That is an improvement.

I'm not really seeing it with Bronny at all. And if the argument is "he could be a good defender, show some hustle and show some instincts". Sorry but what player is that not true of?? That's most end of bench guys or career G-Leaguers and guys in the Summer League now. Nothing special. And I'd argue he's actually looked hideous at times, more than the usual end of bench guy. Guaranteed contract? Lol.

How'd BS look in terms of his movement and decision making?

Looks like an ugly night for both teams.

A few thoughts:
With the exception of Knecht - who looks like he can play in the league offensively right now - there was a notable contrast between the guys with pro level experience and those without. And other than Queta - who got tons of easy looks because either our guys found him or the Lakers couldn't defend - no one really stood out.

I thought Peterson was decent. Right now, he's ahead of Scheierman because he's got a better feel for how the Celtics play - and he's a pretty decent 3 pt shooter (maybe another diamond in rough found by Brad). Davison had a quiet, but solid game. Made a couple of 3's, ran the offense well and made the right decisions. Walsh was OK (as compared to terrible in G1). Ramsey and Tillie had their moments as did Schierman. Those included some nice passes and a dive over the first row on fans trying to save a loose ball - and he popped right back up. Kid was obviously a football player in the past.

I agree with those who say Bronny isn't a pro player. He's not at this point. Does nothing to stand out and he's only 6'2. There are a million guys like him who never make it and we've certainly had our share. It was interesting to hear the announcers make excuses for him. I'm not sure he's even a G League player at this point.

Speaking of which, Ron Harper Jr is apparently getting a camp invite. He's in a similar position to Bronny, except that he's had some success at the college level. With all these new guys, they'll have to put in the work and we'll see how they develop. None - including Scheirman will step in and contribute this season, I don't think.

Why?  According to ESPN he was the Lakers' second leading scorer.   No mention of any Celtics in a game they won by double digits.

I have a hard time discerning the bias of announcers, as I think that everyone tends to think announcers are biased against their team. I only saw the first half but Bronny was noticed by the announcers as nauseam - with excitement each time he touched the ball and especially when he shot the ball.  Bronny looked pretty bad to me - not really at the level of competition.  But maybe he develops.

I think it might be time to move on from Davison. He can?t play off ball and he?s not a good enough PG.  He certainly isn?t taking Pritchards spot.

Definitely close to if not there with Davison.  But I would keep him on a 2-way over Peterson.  Peterson is already 24 (Davison just 21).  A lot can happen with a player between 21-24, a lot more than you expect between 24-27.

I would think that Watson gets a 2-way since they just drafted him, but  I am not that excited about either Davison or Peterson.  I feel like there will be better options out there once teams start finalizing rosters.

I too missed the game, past my bedtime, but I watched the highlights.

Glad to see Walsh bounce back from G1. I still think he's a year away from contributing.

Lakers interior defense must have been awful, Queta was getting the interior passes and just bullying the ball into the basket. He is getting a good long look in SL.

Knecht was impressive on the offensive end. He has a good feel for the game.

Ramsey can make shots. Peterson too, but he looks like he needs to add 15-20 lbs.

Good win.

Very pleased with Queta over the first two games.  Best player on the court for extended stretches of play, and his game scales well to the role he would play with our regular squad.  Good ball from him.

I like Scheierman too.  Couldn't find his shot tonight but he continues to display excellent court awareness.

Davison and Walsh have not impressed me.  I acknowledge that JD shot well in the first game but I don't like his feel for running half-court offense and I think he's a minus defensively.  As for Walsh, I'm stealing a line that Roy used in a past thread:  there's a difference between "defense-first" and "defense-only".  Especially given that I've been a bit lukewarm on his defense too.

I just finished watching the game and I kind-of disagree about Walsh. He didn't seem to be hitting his outside shots, but he two of the nicest baskets in the game. One post-up turnaround jumper from the elbow where he displayed nice footwork and touch. And another where he took his man off the dribble cut through the lane, and finished a tough contested lay-up with his left hand.

He has the body, athleticism, and he looks a little more polished than last year. I think he needs to continue to work on the 3-ball and understanding rotations better, but he should be able to take Oshae's spot in the line-up. They are actually pretty similar as players.

Queta is as good as I remember him being when he was getting time last year and I was arguing that he should get minutes. This is just SL, but dude can be a force out there. His instincts are correct, he doesn't back from physicality, and he actually has a soft touch. Kind-of feel bad for him that he's our 5th Center.

Jaylen caught on NBC Sports Boston video apparently (since there's no sound, so some lipreaders have been at work) saying that Bronny isn't a pro, but will probably be in the Faker rotation because of his name.

He did try and clean it up...not by taking back what he said but by throwing some flowers LeBum's way. Remains to be seen whether LeBum unfollows him or not  :police:
