I am excited about Bronny = to see whether he can make it or not.

He has some good things going for him. He has a legit NBA body and NBA athleticism. He play NBA quality defense. It is offense that is going to be question mark for him moving forward. Can he develop that 3 ball to a good enough level to stay on the court? Of all things to develop, that is one of the easier ones.

I like his chances. To become a defensive guard off the bench. LAL had similar success with Caruso when he went there. D Melton is another similar type of player. Gabe Vincent on the Lakers team today is another one. Gabe probably has the most ball-handling skills and shot-creation of the three of them. Melton the least. Caruso in the middle. Caruso's jump-shot was further along when he entered the league but it was still a work in progress. Melton was probably just as bad of a shooter.

Looked up Melton's college stats. Interestingly enough he also went to USC. He only average 8.3ppg and 3.5apg. Shot only 28% from 3. Caruso averaged 5.5ppg and 3.4apg as a freshman. He played 4 years at college. Never averaged more than 8-9ppg. He did average 5apg a game though in each of his final 3 years. That hasn't translated to the NBA. Like Bronny, Caruso struggles to get separation off the dribble. Lacks explosive burst & high end handles.

Anyway, I will be rooting for Bronny. I want to see him succeed. I think he has a good shot at it too. NBA body. NBA defense. Just needs to get that jumper to a good enough level. I don't see him ever being a creative player (ball-handler, playmaker, shot creator) but he can be a 3+D guard if he can develop that 3 ball. Even just to 33-35% so he can stay on the floor. He has 2-3 years to develop it before teams start giving up on him. Good window.

I?ll root against the Lakers.  It?s the only thing I have against Bronny.  Would have liked to see him on another team and not under his dad?s wing.  If he?s an NBA quality player he?ll earn it eventually - he?s got an opportunity others with his accomplishments would never have received.  This happens everywhere - people with connections get opportunities. Ultimately it won?t get him too far in the NBA without skills, but it did get him a lot of money.

His family already has generational wealth but sure?.he has his own share of the pie, earned or not. But agree, this happens in all sorts of jobscapes.

Ware, who was taken by the Heat with the 15th overall pick in the first round of this year?s draft, was dominant on Sunday. He totaled a game-high 26 points on 12-of-21 shooting from the field to go with 11 rebounds, three assists and one block in the win.

?He did a phenomenal job creating actions rolling to the rim, sealing,? Heat player development coach and summer league head coach Dan Bisaccio said of Ware. ?He did a great job with his touch around the rim. And then again, rebounding. Offensive rebounding, obviously, but also just eating up the glass on the defensive end any chance he can.?

After shooting 0 of 3 from three-point range in Saturday?s summer opener, the 20-year-old Ware shot 0 of 2 from deep on Sunday.

But the 7-footer threw down alley-oop dunks, rolled hard to the rim and showed off impressive footwork in the post in Sunday?s victory. He scored 22 of his 26 points in the paint.

?Right now, my shot is feeling a little short,? Ware said. ?So I wanted to get to the basket more and just be more of a target in my presence, be more in the paint today. I felt like I did that a little bit.?

I was a bit peaved he didn't play in their last summer league game. Like, is he already in load-management? Seemed kinda' entitled to me, especially when you add that to the fact he got drafted when he shouldn't have, and got a guaranteed 4 year contract when he didn't deserve it and no late second round picks ever get that.

I saw a tweet saying the crowd were chanting "We Want Bronny" in the 2nd half.

It is not just the media. The fans want him too.

That doesn't sound like load management, it sounds more like the coach giving players without contracts an opportunity to prove themselves. More minutes/a larger role would help a fringe guy more than Bronny
I'm bitter.

Maybe that's it. He should be in that category right now without a guaranteed contract.

He probably shouldn't even be on a summer league team if we're being honest. If someone else with his resume left school after one year, teams wouldn't be bringing him in for Summer League
I'm bitter.

The ESPN story said it was load management (after only one game!) yet later in the article they said they wanted to give Bunny as many reps as possible for the remainder of summer league. And Bunny IS a fringe player he's just being treated like he's not.

RJ Hampton still trying to make it in the league. He just checked in for the 76ers. Game is on ESPN.
