For those saying this is a coaching loss, how so?

Good timeouts, timely challenge, no one fouled out despite early foul trouble, made use of the bench, a timely hack-a-gobert success play. I didn't see bad coaching, please explain.
The OT was a mess. I was fine with how Joe handled the end of regulation. Tatum should have shot the quick 3 when they were trying to go 2 for 1.

But the OT was a clusterf---, a lot like last season. Too much Jays trying to play hero ball. Tatum can do it, Jaylen cannot. Porzingis should be in the pick and roll action. Instead he watched.

Let's hope Van Gundy earns his corn and spells out a few home truths
Brown and Tatum back to old habits in crunch time.

This board reacts like The Celtics are 1-5 instead of 5-1... LOL

Goodnight.

We were all expecting them to go 82-0, [dang it]  :police:

Decision making in crunch time still a problem

Joe sitting on his hands watching the Twolves go on a huge run the entire OT would do it. He was doing great up until then, but it was like he mentally checked out as the team melted down in OT.

I will also say, enough of the trade Jaylen for Towns proposals.  We saw it tonight.
If things don't go well for Towns, he just kind of folds.  He wasn't even their 3rd best player tonight.
Towns is way too inconsistent.  Minn played better without him.

  • GOT IT!!!
These are the games I plan to focus on during the regular season. They already failed the first test. My god was that some selfish basketball.

Didn’t they win the first 2 close ones?  Those don’t count?

Those weren’t like this game. This actually resembled a playoff game.

The way I see tonight is we played bad, shot poorly, but we forced the game to overtime and it took an Anthony Edwards special to beat us. These losses are where the team learns. There will be plenty on film to look at that’s for sure

Horford was painful to watch as the screen setter most of that OT

Pritchard 0-3 in 20min. 3 shots isn't enough for 20min. Pritchard needs to look for his shot more. A shooter needs to shoot more than that.

That’s the game. Minny has beaten both Boston and Denver at home. This team is legit. We needed a loss like this to bring us back to earth. The season is long. On to the next.

Other then Miami it’s the only good team we have played and we lost

That’s why we needed a loss like this. For a while there we were feeling “invincible”.

If they thought they were invincible then they’re the same ole Celtics. It was pretty obvious they hadn’t beaten anybody or done anything, they struggled to beat a mid tier Knicks and Miami team and blew out some of the worst teams I’ve seen in years

I pretty much agree, but i wish Joe called a time out on that last possession in regulation. The offense was already in disarray at that point. All ISO, your turn my turn basketball. Would have been nice to see a good ATO play to win the game. Still, this loss was on the players. PP, Jrue! KP had terrible shooting performances. JT and Al had late turnovers. I’m really interested to see how we bounce back against a strong team like Philly. On to the next.

Say what now? Questionable no TO at the end of regulation (a 50/50 call, but could've led to a better shot than what we got) and him sitting on his hands during a 9-0 run in OT without any timeouts or play calling or anything is hardly "good timeouts".
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.
