I still prefer taking the timeout in that situation, but that's a reasonable sitaution to not take one.

Yes.  He got excellent separation on a stepback.  Probably as good as we could hope for, even if we had used a timeout.  Just missed it.

Fun competitive game.  I don't think either team is playing terribly well but they're definitely playing hard.

Drawing up a play to win game and get a higher percentage shot would make a bit more sense to me. This is a good early test on what a playoff game will be like.

Last year Joe said he likes to not call timeout so that we can get a shot before the defense sets up. But against the league's best defense? Grow a pair Joe and set up a play!
