Holy hell JB is just an awful ballhandler. You literally couldn't work on that after being meme'd all summer long?

When will people understand that Brown's problem isn't a lack of ball-handling skill - it is the fact that he tries to dribble thru multiple defenders.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

JB had a nice quarter. Cs with great energy - all the starters in that last stretch. Bench did well in this game to stop the bleeding. JT is a beast at the hoop.  Zinger down to earth but still looks good.  DWhite - I’d like to have 5 of him.

C’s are spreading the ball around nicely. Hopefully Porzingis can hear up in the second half.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I'm going to start banging this drum.

Put the ball in Derrick White's hands.  I know he's probably the fifth option in a lot of lineups.  Do it anyway.  Good things happen when he has the ball.  He moves, he sees others move, he finds the open man, he takes smart shots.  Let this guy be one of the best glue guys in the entire league.

He's a little too comfortable fading into the background.  Don't let him.  He absolutely NEEDS to be involved as much as possible.

I'm in.

This team needs glue

True. Decision-making. Just needs to give up the ball quicker. Nice quarter for him - energized.

D White with a solid 1st half and 2 more blocks.  Amazing.

The effort was tremendous in the last six minutes or so.  Spearheaded by JB, I might add.
Two halves in a row ending with a run. Something new.

that lineup of Jrue- DW - JB - JT - KP is going to be a beast on def.

Tatum should have 6 more FT attempts.

Bam should have 3 fouls

JB with his usual dribbling through 3 guys

Closed out the half well though.

well that last sequence was nice.  more off ball man movement please like Jrue there.

Yes, this. Clearly a still a work in progress.

Which is funny, because that was the staple along with the threes and excellent passing the first quarter of last year. The offense was so potent because we were moving off ball, making quick decisions/passes, and shooting the three well. Not sure what has happened with the lack of movement since then.

It's maddening. What happened to that quality offense ?

The weirdest part is that Joe talked about him and the other assistants that summer working on video to find the best offensive schemes in the league after we had such a stagnant meltdown in the finals vs Golden State. He is the one who implemented those really good changes, the offense was setting records and then it all just dissipated into the wind. Didn't somebody notice how well the off-ball movement & screening was working ?

JB is going to be one of the players who has to adjust the most with adding KP and Jrue.  You are starting to see it from him though, more emphasis on def, rebounding, being the energy leader.

You basically have to catch them overhelping or making a mistake in pick-and-roll coverage or something.  They're a meat grinder if they make the correct reads.  And that's only going to get better as they get more familiar with each other.
