I understand Joe likes the double big starting lineup, but if you bring Al off the bench and go with White and Holiday as your starting backcourt, our bench big man is solved. Pritchard has the backup PG spot under control too.
Yeah, it feels like Pritchard being awesome + Kornet highly disappointing may force his hand.
Joe did make the point in Celtics Postgame that they've never had a double big lineup like Al and KP where both are great shooters, great passers and he felt it gave them another dimension.
In any case I think we're probably getting a little too hung up on who starts, it's definitely important in getting the team off on the right foot but I think it's going to be the combinations of players and matchups that the analytics guys will focus on and that smaller lineup with Jrue and Derrick will get plenty of time. I think it might have been you that mentioned it but it's really all about making sure two of Tatum, Brown, KP, Al, Jrue and Derrick are on the floor at any given time so we don't have a huge drop off in production when we bring in the likes of Hauser, Pritchard et al. Because we don't have a lot of depth but we have six All-Star level players we have to make sure they are beefing up the rest of our bench units when those guys come on.
