I do not feel good about this Dallas matchup.
Usually in the NBA, the team with the best player wins the series. Luka will be the best player in the series by far.
Also, Dallas is the best team in the league at closing games: something the Celtics couldn’t do all year until very recently.
Don’t expect anything from KP either.
It's a bad matchup for the Wolves. Their best perimeter defenders are not good matchups for Doncic. Plus, the Wolves lack of shooting allows the Mavs to keep a defender by the rim at all times, which is why the Wolves offense has looked so bad, especially today.
Plus, they've clearly looked gassed since the beginning of the series.
I really like Holiday and Brown against Luka, although I do wonder how they will handle the PnR defense. This blitzing defense they are playing on Luka right now is interesting. Our shooting should disable the Mavs rim protection we've seen.
Still, the Mavs schemes look good and they've executed a gameplan really well. They are a team to be respected. If the Celtics don't play hard to win, they won't.
