He just posted this on IG doesn't seem injured.

He looks good.

Never noticed how tight his shooting stroke is. For a big, tall guy, his form is fairly tight without much movement and can get it off quickly and consistently. I like it.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

The following supposedly translated from his twitter

It is difficult, I feel very responsible to myself and the supporters of the Latvian national team, but a decision has been made that I will not play in the World Cup.

After several weeks of recovery and a repeat MRI examination, the plantar fasciitis of my foot still prevents me from being on the field in full readiness.

This joint decision has been made by both the medical staff and coaching staff of the national team, as well as the Celtics team - with the advice and opinion that it is now necessary to continue the recovery process.

Such a decision is not easy to make, but I promise that I will be there and support the team as much as I can.

I don't want to overreact but between him and Rob's looming injury that we know will happen at some point might be wise to get another big. Not sure I can stomach Luke Kornet playing meaningful minutes.

Well, hopefully this means he can continue his rest and rehab and be fully prepared for the start of training camp. That’s an injury that you want to nip in the bud and not let linger.

I'm kind of relieved that it is planter fasciitis and not something more serious or structural.  Also pleased that he is prioritizing his NBA career.

I agree. I fully expect Rob to miss significant time at some point, and probably Porzingis too. Which is too bad — having those guys healthy and fully available for an entire season would be incredible.

His form is incredibly smooth and quick for someone 7'3". Can get the shot off instantly

Foot issues always concern me with big guys.  And plantar fasciitis can stick around sometimes.  Jusuf Nurkic was shut down with it in February of 2022 and it cost him the rest of the season.

Hope he heals up and that's the last we hear of it.

Gallo and now Zinger... can we just not allow guys to participate in international play? If they get hurt at least make sure it is under our view/care.

Zinger's injury isn't quite a torn ACL

Foot injuries can linger for big men. At first glance, no, it's not. But feet issues with big men = bad.

It's a common injury that can be monitored and managed. Kelly Olynyk missed games his 1st season (or 2nd?) because of plantar fasciitis and hasn't had any serious flare ups since then, although I think he missed out playing a few games for Canada another year when he had issues.
