Is it nowadays, or is it always? How often have pass-first point guards led their teams to championship? Cousy, Magic... Anyone else?

The game has changed a lot and this is an old notion, these days.  Just like. like feed the post is has become antiquated.  The three point shot, not only affected bigs it has affected guards and what a makes a good one in the league's eyes.

Guards who shoot, are the considered the best PG, these days.    It is sad as good passing is something to fun to watch.

When has the last great pass first guard won a championship?

Nowadays combo guards rule the day.  The original take is one from a bygone era.

And back in the day these guys raked in the assists because they just fed the post.
