NBA to add in-season tournament with Final Four in Dec

I guess. I suppose that Silver's main motivation for every decision he makes. Otherwise, though, I don't get it. Why does he want the NBA to be like a pro soccer tournament? What's next? More flopping?

I’m undoubtedly going to hate it and pretty sure I won’t watch.  I don’t get it at all - sounds like 4 games per team and then a knockout round?  But in 2 days?   Are the games mini-games? 

Someone significant will get injured no doubt.

Most of the games won't be in those 2 days (or in Vegas). They'll be played like regular season games that just happen to also count toward the tournament

JD Davison, Dalano Banton, Jordan Walsh, Oshae Brissett, and Luke Kornet.

What a waste of time and a stupid, risky, pointless idea to generate revenue.

They want to make the regular season more interesting whilst increasing parity, which necessarily decreases the importance of the regular season when you have a season as long as the NBA.

The dumbest idea ever for the NBA. The better your players are, the further they advance and the more the potential for an injury. Oh and yeah, lets tire out the best players mid season so they can be nice and fresh for remainder of year and playoffs.

Crap like this is really making me reevaluate how I spend my free time and watching the NBA.

I love how the NBA tries to have its cake and eat it too. "Let's have a bunch of teams that are likely never going to win a title, or even come close, but make them competitive enough to sell a few extra tickets during the regular season!"

Shut this crap down before it starts.

Ok, choose the champion from a head to head regular season game that is already scheduled.  The championship is awarded every two years.  One year sets the teams, the next year delivers the champion.  Whomever got most points leading to championship, have the championship be when its a home gane for them.

Then shut down this idea down too after its shown to be a useless flop..
