I would also add that I hope we go with someone in their 30’s, as we are working with a tight budget and youth is expensive. Rather get a guy in his early 30s with no “potential” to pay for but proven production.

I’d be pretty happy with JRich, as well. Good teammate. 👍🏻 Good on d and he’s been knocking down the 3 ok, too.

If we were trying to fill the center position with more depth I’d greedily prefer Olynyk . I like the idea that everyone that’s gets minutes can drill 3’s outside of Rob. This is clearly the style we’ll play so.. 🤷‍♂️

For $5M I like both J Rich and Olynyk. JRich moreso, but KO as your 4th big for a fair cost is a nice roster pickup too.

Josh Richardson seems like the type of player who could be a playmaker if necessary, a 3 point shooting wing if necessary, and be able to cover well on D across 3 positions.

I get that he isn't a world-beater, but I think he fit in relatively well on the roster last time he was here. As a veteran who can also eat up minutes in case of an injury, we could do a lot worse for $5M.

Yessir. This is the guy Brad needs to add.

I'd go for a PF as first priority, then a cheap veteran PG second. I don't buy this Porzingis at PF next to Al or Rob talk. I think Porzingis is the unquestioned starter at C and they find a tougher, dirty work, rebounding/defensive PF with more mobility to play alongside him. White, Brown, Tatum, power forward X, and Porzingis should be the closing lineup most nights. Who's going to be taking all the pounding inside for most of the year? Grant might be gone and Porzingis isn't going to want to do that.

If Brogdon moves to the starting lineup, all of a sudden Pritchard and Davison are the only backups. I would feel better if you had another option there.

Could he really be had for only $5M though?

KO is still under contract this coming season for $12M. J-Rich would be a good option, though.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I think wing/swing PF type is the primary big hole on the bench with Grant likely gone. That being said, you’re not gonna find one of those to start with vet contracts and the $5 mil tax exception. I think KP starts next to either Horford or Timelord. I’m saying Timelord because I think Horford will need to be managed.

Olynyk's option has not been picked up yet by the Jazz.  He has a 3 million guarantee.  It is likely the Jazz pick up the option tomorrow as that is the deadline for his option to be picked up.  After adding Hendricks in the draft and trading for Collins there is a bit of a logjam in their frontcourt and KO could be on the trade market, kept by the Jazz or conceivably a free agent.  His situation will be clearer tomorrow.

I'd start Hauser rather than Brogdon. Keep Brogdon in that 6th man microwave offense role. Let Hauser be a floor spacer for the three main scorers in the starting unit. Stay bigger on the wing with Hauser rather than go to the small backcourt.

Going with the Horford over Timelord as starting PF ...

Not that he is starting material but Derrick Jones Jr would be an interesting option as a deep bench SF/PF. Someone that could step in and start at PF when Horford misses the back-to-backs. Kinda like how Scalabrine stepped up and started when KG was absent in order to maintain the regular rotation for everyone else.
