Ppl still blaming Joe need to get a dose of reality.

Coaches can only do so much.

His players are sucking

It *might* just be because he simply doesn't put them in positions to succeed. You know, like completely changing a highly successful defensive identity from last year to focus on a completely erratic and unsustainable gameplan of just chucking threes and not focusing on the D.

Hard for the players to succeed when they're not given the tools or opportunity to succeed.

It took Ime half the season last year to get the players to buy into the system and it proved to be super-successful. Joe apologists will tell you that this season's team had a better record than last year's, but that is just stupid. First, because of what I just mentioned above, but also, this team came out red-hot after a Title run and has been sputtering ever since. It is like the opposite of last season and that really is on the coach...especially since we now have a more 'talented' team.

I am loving how as the announcers rip the team, the camera keeps showing Joe. Cracking me up.

Yup, specially when Reggie questioned why Al kept on sitting on the coaches chair. Where’s Joe??

I thought they were one of the top defenses in the playoffs?

Uh, no lol We're close to dead last. When teams actually started playing hard, it's clear our whole season of deemphasizing the defense caught up to us.

Well it’s safe to say we underestimated this Miami team. There’s probebly a reason they beat Milwaukee. Sure we’ve played bad but they had a lot to do with us playing bad. Our shooters pooped the bed though

Not at all. Pretty sure our DRTG is 10th for the postseason.

Joe predicated our offense on three point shooting. We were badly outclassed in that category this series. When the shots aren’t falling, plan B is to shoot more.

don’t disagree but the consistent lack of effort is inexcusable.

But that's the thing - THAT'S ON THE COACH AND THE SYSTEM! We NEVER saw this last year. They played dumb at times offensively, but they always played hard and played great defense. We're playing without anywhere near the effort even though we have significantly more talent and should have won it all.

This is clearly a lost locker room. The team was already clearly aware of Joe's limitations given their comments all playoffs long, and they've clearly given up on him now. This is exactly what that looks like. It's exactly what the end of Brad's tenure looked like. All tuned out.

This is something thst these guys have shown for years, they complain about calls and start doing stupid things under pressure. I just think they’re soft and entitled, Tatum included.

Reminds me of the Red Sox getting smoked in game three of the ALCS in 2004.

Telling you right now. 😉

Yeah, Tatum not looking good tonight, but his 1st half was okay in the sense that he had 10 rebounds and 2 steals, so he was active and engaged out there. Nobody else came to play and he just crumbled with the rest of the team in the 3rd. It wasn't going to happen, so I won't get on him too much for this one.

That aside, I don't care what we do as long as we keep Tatum. I said it in another thread, but this team basically has a 2nd round floor with Tatum and a half-way decent rotation. We have a lot of valuable, younger pieces. I am not saying blow it up, but this is really rough. Definitely different than if we had gone down in a hard fought 7 game series.
