A Simons is a small two guard. Bad defender. Doesn't move the needle much in terms of winning. Not a great fit either next to our trio of combo guards in Smart, D White and Brogdon. I suppose we could do a follow up trade and trade one of those three guys for a new forward - either SF to replace Jaylen and keep Tatum at PF or a new PF to move Tatum back to SF. The #3 pick is not a great asset for a win-now team. That player will likely be a few years away from being able to be a major contributor to a title contender. Brandon Miller looks a good pickup at #3. Scoot Henderson would an amazing pickup. I would probably do that deal if Scoot was still there at #3. Take Scoot and A Simons. Trade two of the combo guards for young forwards / bigs. Build a new contender around Tatum & Scoot. Prepare for a post-Horford time period.

I might value Scoot as an individual asset above Jaylen straight up. Nevermind getting A Simons as well. I guess Simons is the price you get for taking a chance on Scoot's unproven future potential over Jaylen's proven ability. Still, Scoot has a very good chance to be a superior player than Jaylen is.
Regarding JBIs it guaranteed he stays and signs with us? He seems like a headstrong type who would go elsewhere for a number of reasons…ie. doesnt like playing second fiddle, doesnt like playing on this team or the city of BostonAlso, if both JT and JB sign these “all-nba” contracts, the tax implications are astronomical and roster flexibility is limited.Just a question, but is this something to consider? 🤔https://twitter.com/thenbacentral/status/1659656444491210767?s=46&t=1X_JM6t_sHOmJ-4Zf9_JdQ
