Agree. Add in that he went to Gavitt to retire from playing intentionally before the upcoming season salary would kick in whether he could play or not. He refused to take the money if he was not going to earn it even though Gavitt tried to get him to wait. Not Bird. Can you imagine these greedy prima donnas of today doing the same thing ? Larry is pure integrity.

100 pages. This is officially silly. This thread has more to do with the posters than Joe.

Posters who are passionate Celtic fans who consider this team overdue for their first title and see Mazzulla as an impediment to that goal.

Joe implemented some zone defense to slow down IND.  Not sure if this is something that other teams have been doing vs. IND, but it really seemed to work well.

This team continues to play like a well coached team.  They play hard and appear to be bought in to play the right way.  No "fire-able" offenses by Mazzulla from what I can see.  He is doing well and the league seems to agree (awarding him coach of the month).

As always, it is "what have you done lately" so things can change, but lately, who has been a better coach than Mazzulla?  What team has been better prepared or more bought in?  You could have argued Nurse in PHI, as some did, but that honeymoon seems to be winding down.  Maybe Mark Daigneault in OKC?  He has that team playing really well but no better than BOS.  Rick Carlisle in IND?  Didn't Mazzulla "outcoach" him last game?

just wait until they drop another game which will happen....because Celtics wont go 48-0 rest of the way.

the claws will be out....like they were after we lost to OKC.

either way, i cant really find too many complaints about Joe so far. maybe less 3's when they aren't going down. but otherwise right now we are #1 in point differential at 10.7.  the #5 offense and #3 defense.

People are still upset that they didn't know Mazzulla's name before he was named the interim coach. They prefer a celebrity coach.

Three coaches who have won titles.  Seems like a good place to start.

Joe looked terrible in last year's playoffs.  Winning regular season games means nothing.  Hopefully he'll do better this year.

My point is that people are biased towards older guys with experience. I've made the point that many didn't like Spo because he was new and didn't win a championship in his first year.

I think Joe can relate to his players much more than these older guys. I'd also rather have Mike McDaniel over Bill Belichick, despite the championships.
