I hate this attitude

"They had a great game and we had a mediocre game."

Jaylen Brown on if there was any let up from the C's because Joel Embiid was out.

No urgency at all

Yeah, I saw that too. He just sounds so complacent. That's not to say he isn't upset on the inside. But this is when we need a Jimmy Butler. This is when we need a Bird. Someone who is going to come out and say we played like a bunch of pansies. Someone who hates losing so much that he will stir the pot and get his team fired up at any cost.
we need a perk or KG throwing chairs in the locker room THIS IS SACRILEGE AND A DISGRACE. SHAME ON YOU BRAD.

Team meeting and just take over. joe cannot coach himself out a wet paper bag.

why did we fire udoka again? i want the truth?

the udoka firing seems to be more dubious and possibly politically motivated as time goes on. if what ime did was so egregious, why did the nba allow houston to hire him so quickly? and why hasn’t there been more outrage over his hiring, if he’s guilty of what was implied? furthermore, how do we not know more detail surrounding his alleged misconduct after all the time that has transpired? no organization is this watertight; leaks always occur.

add to this the recent revelation that ime was the driving force behind the d.white signing, and it’s not tough to begin to see a potential internal power struggle between ime and brad. follow this up with brad hiring a weak, compliant joe (vs. ime’s strong personality), and you begin to see a potentially different perspective  of the c’s inner circle. recall, danny’s ouster was also mysteriously veiled, followed by the extremely rapid ascent of PBS.

not directly stating there’s fire, but there’s certainly a lot of smoke.

Series is over. Heartless and nutless team
I hope they have more heart than you. It’s one game. Smh.

INCORRECT!

this is NOT the first game joe had been terrible at D
this is not the first game we have let dumb O at times and dumb turnovers beat us

we have a huge trend
It’s the first game of the series. It’s not over. Losses suck. You move on. Otherwise he can stop watching.

Most of this board correctly predicted that the C's would play down to their opponent. We have good reason to be frustrated. This goes beyond losing a playoff game.
I’m frustrated too but the series is not over. I find it ironic that someone who is already giving up on the series is questioning the team’s heart. That’s all. It’s not over.

of course it's not over. This team plays far better with their backs against the wall. Being a Celtics fan is like living in bizarro world. This team has some kind of mental blockage where they like to make their lives more difficult. I can only guess at why, but it is remarkable that they're able to function at such a high level while constantly self-sabotaging.

You can't win a title with a horrible coach and a team that refuses to not be lazy when playing g a team.down a star.

That's the kind of combo you hope LA suffers with, it's thay bad.

Back to wanting Joe fired.

I don't think we're winning Game 2 either.

said same. we might head to philly down 2-0. embiid comes back and philly might sweep us. what a joke,

why did we hire JOE again? come on tell the truth? did we even do a real search? no huh?
If they lose Game 2, a sweep is absolutely on the table.

The 2008 team were taken to game 7 by a 40 win Hawks teams. People never seem to criticize  other good teams that lose. The Warriors laid an egg in game 6 at home Vs the Kings. Are they incapable of winning a title? (Not saying they will be you can’t question the Warriors heart). I get the frustration but I wouldn’t question this teams heart. Write the narrative after it’s over. Until then, buckle up.

I honestly can't get over the fact that Jaylen played thirty minutes after the first quarter, and took only three shots. He had five total shooting possessions after the first quarter (three shots, 4 fta's). The team literally just seemed to forget he was out there. It's not even like he was turning it over a ton, he had TWO to's after the first quarter. Honestly, I can't even remember them TRYING to get him the ball.

All season he only had two other games where he took 10 or fewer shots. He played 18 minutes (Tatum broke his face vs Phili) and 25 minutes (blowout against Portland) in those two games. He played 42 tonight.

The offense just completely broke down. Too slow, too much iso, too much Smart, no passing.

Good points about Brown, but the near-complete absence of defense was, IMO, the major problem. Cs shot 73% (!) in the first half yet had only a 3-point halftime lead. That's terrible.

Ya. With just over 2 minutes to go he had a mini fast break. Just had to beat Harden and we would’ve been up 6. But he pulled it out. Turning point IMO.

The '08 team was the first year of Pierce, KG, and Ray playing together (and also most of the supporting cast, like Posey, House, Cassell, and Brown), so they were still learning each other. The core of this team (Brown, Tatum, Horford, Smart) have been together in the postseason for several years now. They just don't learn lessons very well, keep making the same mistakes, keep underestimating opponents, etc. It's exhausting.

Don't forget De'Anthony Melton—he of the 10ppg average who had 17 in one half tonight.

Welp, Game 2 is a must-win AND they must steal a game on the road should they want any chance of survival. And with that pathway, C's in 7.

I heard Isaiah Thomas announced that he will continue his playing career. I know he's one of those who can give the C's some mental toughness if that's what they're lacking.

This team is just not fun to watch anymore....this giving up leads and walking up the floor is BS, old and tired. If they can't figure it out by now they never will--maybe it's Tatum and Brown.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.
