Do we know if any Celtics (outside the All Star game) are participating? I'd love to Hauser in the 3 point contest.

Thought I read that Tatum could be in the 3pt contest.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

does anyone actually watch any the all-star game or the 'skills' circus during the break?   haven't bothered watching since Bird's last appearance.  just don't see the appeal and haven't for about 30 years

I like the 3pt contest and skills challenge. Dunk contest hasn’t been very good lately and the ASG is meh.

Exactly the same.  Watched Bird in the 3-point contest and that was it. Haven’t watched since. Game is of absolutely no interest. I suppose if I thought of it at the right time and if it coincided with having nothing to do, I’d watch the 3-point contest.  I remember being interested in the highlights of Jordan dunks and Dee Brown dunks, but generally that contest doesn’t really pique my interest.

Think the last time I actually watched the ASG was in 2011 when Doc was the coach...and he put in the Celtics' Big 4 and Dwight Howard in that lineup  ;D

LeBron getting honored AGAIN by the NBA during the ASG at halftime for breaking the record.

Wow, again. That's what happens when LeBron the Commissioner is in charge of the league.

He set the most hallowed individual stat in the sport's history.  It is an all star game which is meant to honor the stars of the sport.  I'm not sure why this is controversial, especially since the first ceremony during the game was after midnight on the east coast in a game many didn't think he'd set the record in.  Of all the things to complain about this seems very strange.

I've stopped watching the actual ASG. It is a joke, they don't play defense all "for-show" dunks etc. Same with Rising Stars competition. 3-point contest is mildly interesting but I don't go out of my way to watch it. The Skills Competition is the only one that I like to catch. I was impressed when KAT won it a few years ago.

The all star game definitely hit rock bottom this year. I think 90% of the fans would prefer returning to east versus west rather than these captain picked teams. They could also try something alternative like USA versus world. I also don’t know if it has come up before, and I like Giannis but was really lame he prevented someone from possibly making their only all star game because he wanted to play one posessions. League should not allow that, or at least not count them against the roster.

I think the all star game may improve a bit whenever Lebron stops being so involved in picking the teams and setting the tones. I realize there are a ton of players like this including our own Tatum, but he is definitely top of the list for people making a joke of it. I know someone like Embid even tried to be more competitive this year but there wasn’t enough. Brown also criticized this years game. Hopefully there are at least some changes.
