The C's could pretty much clinch the tiebreaker with Philly tonight. They'd have a 2-0 lead on Philly for the season, so the most Philly could do is get to 2-2. And the next tiebreaker is Division -- a win tonight would move the C's to 8-1 in the division and drop Philly to 5-5. Making up 3.5 games with only 6 division games left would be pretty insurmountable. If it happened, it's likely the tiebreaker wouldn't even be needed. So tonight's game is effectively worth 2 with regard to the standings.
Yep.
If the C's win, they'd also be 4 games up on PHI with about 27-28 games left to go. Not impossible, but it's also unlikely PHI can make up 5 games on us in that span (assuming we get the tiebreaker which is very likely with a win tonight). Then it just sets it up so MIL and BOS are battling for the 1 seed, but whoever doesn't get it still gets the 2 seed which is also fine (just makes the road a bit difficult after the 2nd round)
So yeah, big game tonight
