Kyrie for Westbrook makes zero sense, unless Brooklyn is also trading KD. Does anyone think Durant wants to play with Westbrook again?

All of a sudden, the Nets don't concern me anymore.

What teams are desperate enough to take him?

I’d guess both LA teams and Minnesota.  Could the Nets get another team to take on Simmons?

For instance, Gortat + Russell for Simmons + Kyrie.

Marcin Gortat is back in the league?

Westbrook for Kyrie doesn't quite work.  The nets would need to include another player.  Not a big deal.  But why would BKN do this?  Kyrie is better than Westbrook.  LAL doesn't have enough picks to even out the value.

They won't trade Kyrie.

I agree they probably won’t - and if they did trade him they’d almost have to move Durant. But if they did get Westbrook and reunited him with Durant - then added Simmons? Beyond comedy.

Maybe the Suns? But yeah it sounds like it's just those 4 teams

Mavs could use a legit #2 but I also really don't think they are now that desperate enough for Kyrie either

I can see Cuban doing this. Kyrie just wants to sign a new deal after that anything goes.

I wonder if Durant also requests a trade.

Remember, he legit demanded and spent months trying to get traded last offseason, but since nothing materialized he stayed put obviously.

If Kyrie gets dealt soon which seems likely, I imagine KD wants out too. And who knows, does a team like Dallas, Memphis or someone else in desperate need of a #2 for their title hopes pull the trigger?

No chance KD wants to stay with Brooklyn with only that bum Ben Simmons  :laugh:

I guess the most interesting thing about this is it proves that Shams is certainly carrying water for the Brooklyn FO. That's good to know.

Cuban was critical of Kyrie over the anti-semitic stuff. I'm not sure that's a marriage to be made.

Breaking: Brooklyn Nets All-Star Kyrie Irving has requested a trade, league sources tell
@TheAthletic

@Stadium
. The franchise has been informed that Irving prefers to move on ahead of the Feb. 9 trade deadline – or will leave in free agency in July.

I wish he would have requested a trade when the C's had him.  Allow the C's to get value vs nothing.

Kyrie should have just stayed in Boston, we'd be working on Banner #20 right now....Idiot.

Lakers get Irving and Gay

Nets get Conley and Olynyk + Lakers 1st

Jazz get Westbrook + Lakers 1st

Can't see Westbrook going to Nets and also can't see Kyrie going anywhere but the Lakers.

This is the most viable option that I have seen.  Really cleans things out for Utah.  Gives the Nets some decent players.  The Lakers eat Gay, give up their remaining picks, but get Kyrie and a legit chance to contend.

And we can stop all the Olynyk to Boston talk.

Nice job Oracle

Woj already saying Kyrie wants to go LA

ESPN Sources: Brooklyn’s Kyrie Irving has not shared a list of preferred teams, but he has maintained an interest in the Lakers. LA is expected to be among the teams that’ll explore a possible trade with the Nets

My question is, does Durant want Westbrook? Because if not, BKN then has to consider trading Durant, otherwise I don't see how else they make a trade unless somehow AD is involved lol. Do they make some mega deal involving Kyrie AND Simmons heading to LA, or some 3-team trade with disposed/future assets going to a 3rd team to help facilitate things

Stein now says they are interested. Mavs are a poorly run organization that I can see making a rash gamble like this.
