I can imagine the frustration of Knicks fans this game.  "Who TF is Sam Hauser?!"
What he is is the type of player Ainge could never seem to find or develop.
Meaning what, exactly?
A bench guy who could come in and make 3's consistently.

More to the point, a bench guy who could come in and make 3s coming in cold, without having to play himself into the game. They've clearly got some set plays and high screens to give Hauser some space when he comes on.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

We previously had some deadeye shooters in the line up who were eventually let go. Max Struss is one i can remember, but there are others i think. Finally we snagged one in Sam!

That's the least of the Knicks' worries!  ;D

One of my friends grew up in Queens and is a Knicks fan. Some of his comments from tonight:

25 threes and Thibs with no defensive adjustments. Just dole out his game plan and that’s it. No in game adjustments ever. The coach only throws a fastball. Nothing else in the bag. I want him punted off to the sun.
Quoting Nick from the now locked Ime thread:

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Man, Knicks gave Fournier four years, $78M. So glad it was them and not us.

just finished teaching and saw that Celtics won again. The box score suggests good contributions from Sam Hauser and Brogdon. Well done Celtics !

Like Eddie House, Courtney Lee, Jonas Jerebko, Kelly Olynyk, Terry Rozier, and (perhaps a stretch because he started often) Marcus Morris?

Our shooting and our bench were great tonight, but how about Tatum's defense? He was fantastic, has been the whole season so far. He's significantly improved and more of a force on defense this year.

hes for sure blocking more shots. More active on defense- I think its from having to do less more overall. he can save his energy for defense.

Only Jaylen Brown could be this team's leading scorer, put up 30 points, shoot over 50% from the field and 3, hit all his free throws, get 5 rebounds and dish 3 assists with just 1 turnover and have more negative comments than positive comments made about him in a game thread on a Celtics fan site.

I was just going to write the SAME EXACT thing.  I just came from reading comments on realgm celtics forum and it is the same way over there.
Brown gives us 30/5/3 on efficient shooting, and lots of people seem to think that is no big deal.  Do people remember where Brown was 3-4 years ago?
Now when he gives us nights like this I guess a lot of us take it for granted.  He is just such an effortless athlete that we all have come to expect it.

Other thank JB's good game, there were other positives:  Malcom Brogdon even though he didn't shoot well, still impacts the game in a big way.  Rebounding, assists, toughness, great def.  Brogdon fits so well on our team, it is going to be really scary for the other teams once Timelord gets back.  Then we get to the point where we are bringing Brogdon, White, Williams, Hauser all off the bench, all can play def and hit the 3.

Another great positive, Hauser continuing to get minutes.  He needs reps to get into a rhythm as a shooter.  We need to keep playing him 15-20 minutes a night.  He isn't a bad defender, he actually is a smart defender.  He just lacks a bit in the lateral quickness.

Vonleh was another positive from this game.  I know he hasn't played much, or done much.  But you have to build up the confidence level of these bench players.  Noah led the team in rebounds in only 16 min tonight.  Take that how you will, he still collected 7 boards, and a couple of them were great off rebounds that helped us maintain the lead.

TPs for everyone, a little late but still great win!

He is not a good defender by any means, but is he a weapon on offense.     He is slow too, that is why he plays off guys so far.   It is an area he can improve on for sure.

This team is two blown calls from being 7-1 without TimeLord. I’m liking it.

I'm referring to the time from when the Jays were drafted to present. And as was pointed out, someone who can come in cold and hit shots consistently.

Out of that group, House fits the description. Olynyk was fine, though that wasn't his primary role. In fact, I'd take him back. But the rest you can have.

Ainge's problem was that the game changed, the 3 point shot became more and more important, and he was slow to react prefering his development projects who never developed.

Every Celtic who played hit a three.

And of the nine who did play, Malcolm Brogdon at 2-5 (40%) and Jason Tatum at 6-13 (46%) shot "the worst."

And Marcus Smart at 5-9 (3-5 from 3) with 11 assists played the perfect "Marcus Smart game."

No more than five three-point attempts.  A focus on passing and defense.  Being a general pest to the opposition.  And utilizing his low-post games.

His focus on pushing the ball, swinging it quickly to shooters, etc.

Just a perfect game for Marcus.
