Toronto will win it all if the Refs keep letting them get away with Straight Arming their way to the basket on every drive---really ridiculous.

Yeah, The Raps were playing football. We needed to up our aggression. Coach maybe should've got a tech.

Pritchard had some good looks at the end of regulation to win, and OT to send the game into a second overtime. I would have liked to see more Brogdon out there, man is he going to be a difference maker. Using White offball, 3-D, a lot tonight, a role I feel better suits him, shot 5/6 from three. We are going to see a lot more of that

Grant is useless around the rim. Would be a travesty if they give this guy $14 mil per year.
Hopefully they don’t
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

This was Coach Maz's  worst coached game, I know it was preseason but it sure seemed he was trying to win it

1) Left starters in too long, Marcus got dinged up as a result in a game that did not matter
2) Our lineups were bad, and created disadvantageous matchups for  us, and he stubbornly stuck to them and did not adapt
3) Their length really bothered some guys on our team

Al this is fixable but this was the coach's worst performance to date. I know it is preseason, the sky is not falling.

TOR is better without Siakam, He stops ball movement, thinks he is a bigger star than what he is and they play better without him.  We really missed the bonehead forced shots he usually takes in past games.   They played as a team and didn't force things.

Grant's a wide body.  needs to put that defender on his back and push into him to take away the leaping ability to block a shot.

This is harder to do when your  6'5" maybe and the other guy is 6"9" with long arms.   It might work at the YMCA but some of the NBA players have standing reaches over 9 feet and Grants is 8'8".   The Raptors draft guys with length and long arms.

Good players take whatever the refs give him in terms of leeway.   I think teams saw Draymond bully us in the finals and they are going to use this against us, so better get used to it.

The offense is humming, picking up where we left off; one of, if not, the best offenses in the preseason. The ball sharing/movement is on point creating open looks and assist opportunities.

Jaylen looks like a man on a mission, Derrick taking and hitting threes, Al too (he wasn’t hitting threes early last season), and Brogdon looks like a natural fit.

The defense, especially from the bench, has been underwhelming; the good thing is that it’s not due to blown coverages as much as the offensive player hitting mid range shots with a defender in his face. Those will fall less and less as the season goes on.

The bench units being good enough to maintain/build leads will be key to this team. The health and win totals are depending on it.

I think Brogdon would have played more, but he hurt his leg and had to exit the game. White was impressive, good to see.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

This was the final tuneup game and the coach was treating it that way by having the starters play similar minutes to what they will during the regular season. I believe most teams do this.

Maz is going to have to continue to experiment with the bench rotation to see what works. From what I can tell, Grant and Blake on the court together doesn’t work. Neither of those guys should be playing the 5. They can’t guard centers and the rebounding is atrocious. It’s quite worrisome that Kornet didn’t play at all last night as he was supposedly ahead of the other Centers on the depth chart. Crossing my fingers that Favors clears waivers and decides to sign with the C’s. They could really use him…

Unfortunately I think the rebounding and rim protection is going to be a glaring problem for the first few months of the season, and these preseason games pretty much showed us a glimpse of it.

Remember those days in the mid-to-late 2010s here where even in great years, it just seemed like we lost a lot of games late due to the inability to grab key rebounds, or even defend 2nd-string PF/Cs?

Love Horford but he's not the same guy from 5+ years ago and besides that, are we relying on Kornet to save us? Lol. Hope Timelord can come back soon but this roster is still missing a quality backup center and I don't think Griffin is that guy either tbh.

I'm glad Tatum got T'd up in an inconsequential game.

He needs to remove that stupid hand-wave-in-disgust habit from his mind.  I'm so sick of that gesture.

Just get over it and move on dude.

I saw him called for a questionable foul in the first half and instead of complaining he just ran back on defense.  I was thrilled.

Lose the pouting JT.  It's so immature.

I didn't get to watch the game last night, but i did watch the highlights.

It's shocking to me that Nick Nurse didn't get thrown out of the game and Tatum did. He was yelling, throwing his hands around, and stomping around the sideline every time the Celtics got a favorable whistle or non-whistle.

The inconsistency is frustrating. I may get more annoyed with Tatum's wining than the refs to, but you gotta call that consistently.

The only people I heard hyping Kornet was the media, not coaches or his team mates and certainly not the fan base for the most part.  I for one, expect little out of him and don't think he is ahead of others.    Vonleh showed more in the game he started than Kornet has his whole career.    Grant has made some big progress in his wing play, and he should not be asked to play C, that is setting him up to fail.   He can shoot the three ball well and the effort is there and he is in shape.  He is not a C.   Can't rim protect or board at that position.

I agree with you on Blake and Grant being together.  I would like Favors too.

I realize Coach Maz is trying different lineups but it was clear pretty quickly that the small lineup was not working.    Neither was the lineup in the second half with Jaylen and  Grant, Houser, Pritchard and the other guy.    It was getting destroyed.   Hauser can shoot but he is bad defender and if a guy has length near him, he loses the ability to shoot.

Agreed. On all accounts. I’m actually looking forward to seeing Vonleh play. He was quite productive most games in limited minutes and the team could really use his rebounding skill. With Vonleh’s size and athleticism, I expect him to get better defensively as well.
