If Spidey-verse has proven anything, it's that animation is probably the best format for adapting comic books.
It's interesting. I love the Spidey-verse films, but I also was a big fan of Reeves' Batman. I think you can do both live action & animation very well

I don't mean live action can't capably adapt comic books, just that if you're going for the most faithful adaptation then animation is probably superior. Just on a most basic level, comics and animation both being illustrated mean they're more similar formats. If you're going live action then there are just going to be some inherent compromises, though obviously I'm not counting things that are so heavily computer-animated the "live" portion of it is minuscule.

The Kingpin in Spidey-verse 1 is a good example. He's impossibly large which adds to how menacing he seems. If you were doing that live-action, you'd have to abandon any pretense of being in a "real" world. Then it would be more like Rodriguez's Sin City which tried to stay as close as possible to the comics stylistically. If you were attempting to adapt Sin City in a more conventional way you'd be met with a lot of necessary changes that would destroy or at least modify the "feel" of the original comic. It doesn't mean that version of Sin City would be bad, it just means it wouldn't be as faithful.

I haven't seen the animated adaptation but the actual comic storyline is a classic

My fav DC animated movie is still Batman Mask of the Phantasm. I was one of the few who saw it in theaters. For thise who don't know, it's part of the Batman: the Animated Series Universe.

It's grim and moody in all the right ways.

I don't think they've done a true adaption of the saga.  I'd be happy to be wrong.

Green Lantern does not get the love it deserves. The Sinestro Corps storyline was great too. Geoff Johns really injected new life into that franchise.

Sad that it hasn't hit the mainstream yet.

Edit: A Blackest Night adaption would work best after lots of world-building. Resurrecting dead corrupted characters could be a wonderful plot point if the proper groundwork is laid.

The early reviews for the Joker sequel have been mixed, with a lot of them calling the movie pretty bad.

I'm hoping it's watchable.

The first one I thought it was a bit overrated. It was well done and they did a good job with the whole mental health angle, but it wasn?t a superhero movie. Felt more like watching one of those depressing but well done movies that you watch once like The Whale, not like Dark Knight that you can watch multiple times.

I think it depends on what you think of as a musical.  I've read that the majority of it is a standard movie, with musical/dance fantasies sprinkled in.

I just saw the news that James Gunn has Lex Luthor using mutant monkeys typing on keyboards badmouthing Superman which makes him sad. Yikes.
