Pats' with 5 wins and I can see wins over the Jets at home(a team they already beat on the road), Arizona, Las Vegas and warm weather team Miami in January(something that happens quite often historically...good to elite warm weather teams losing in the cold).

To get to my prediction of 10-7, the Pats' would then need to upset either Buffalo or Minnesota on the road or Cincinnati or Buffalo at home. My guess would be one of the home games, maybe even Buffalo because of the intense division rivalry and Belichick's familiarity with the Bills.

Oh hey I predicted the same thing too before the season!

I said after the Pats started 1-3 that the goal should be going 5-1 in the next 6 during their "softer part" of the schedule to get to 6-4 by Thanksgiving week. The Bears game was brutal but I did think we would lose 1 to NYJ/IND but so far, in that span we are 4-1 and I like our chances against the Jets at home after the bye week. So it evens out in a way I guess.

I feel similarly. The Pats will definitely need to steal a game that most don't expect them to win. If I had to guess, that might be the Vikings or Bengals game. I think Buffalo beats us twice BUT if Buffalo also has the 1 seed clinched before Week 18, maybe they just play their backups against us? We'll see.

I doubt the Bills go easy in week 18 if they get the bye.  That would mean 3 weeks between games for the starters. Not a good idea.

Nick what would the path to topping out at 6 wins be?

As much as it seems unlikely that the Pats will go no better than 1-7 over their last 8, I'm not exactly over the moon when it comes to this team.  Shutting down Zack Wilson and Sam Ehrlinger isn't saying all that much.  The Pats will face much better QBs over the last 8 games and the offense will need to score points (get in the endzone) if they want to stay in the WC race.  Mac needs to be able to not feel that he's under pressure if his first read is covered or if a play takes a couple beats to develop.  You can see him almost immediately looking for an escape route if he doesn't get the ball out quickly.  That won't get the job done if you need the offense to produce 28 points to win a game.

Well, other than Bailey. I don't know what the heck happened to him, but this offense is NOT good enough to have a bad punter. We either need him to get back to form or need to find another option
I'm bitter.

He could be replaced this upcoming off-season. I expect a bunch of turnover on the offensive side of the ball this off-season. The defense is young and pretty dang good so should remain mostly intact excerpt for McCourty, but punter, tight end, wide receiver and offensive linemen could see drastic change as a bunch of contracts expire and so we ill be moved on from. I thought I read that the Pats' could have more than $53 million in cap space, more depending if they move on from a couple guys.

Nine games in, 5-4, and we still have no idea what this team is.  They beat the Jets, in NY, made them look horrible, and then the Jets go out and beat the Bills.  Then we squish the Colts to go 4-1 in last 5 games.  4 convincing wins and 1 stinker against the Bears.  Do you just throw out the win against the Jets and the loss to the Bears and say we have only beat bad teams and only lost to good teams?

We have the Jets and Dolphins at home.  Those games could go either way.  Cardinals, Raiders, Bengals don't scare me, we could win all of those.  And the Vikings have had an easy schedule.  Are they any better than the Jets or Dolphins?  And the Bills couldn't even beat the Jets.  I have no idea what to expect the rest of the way.  It seems like 3 more wins would be the floor.  6 wins would not stun me.

My biggest concern is that to me, Mac Jones has still not looked great.  He was fine yesterday but a "fine" Mac Jones probably only gets us 3 wins.  I feel he is capable of better than fine but just have not seen it this season.  I don't think it is all his fault, the OL has had issues, new play calling, but the other aspects are starting to come together.  Mac needs to be better.

Mac is never going to look great with Patricia as OC/ offensive assistant. It’s not like Jones is calling the plays out there  and the offensive line is still pretty bad. How did Mac look last year with McDaniels? The skill position players are essentially the same as the prior season and they added Parker who has been decent. The biggest problem with this team is the o-line and the coaching staff. It’s dysfunctional.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Zach wilson just beat the bills. We also play him again. Do the way Derek carr or kylar murray scare you? They are a combined 5-12.

Kyler Murray actually does only because mobile QBs always seem to kill us even during the Brady dynasty years. Fields, Kaepernick, Cam Newton, Lamar Jackson, etc. over the years and even a few weeks ago obviously against the Bears

Yup, the Pats almost always get burned by mobile QBs. Not sure if that's more of a personnel issue or a coaching issue, but it's frustrating for Pats fan to see them constantly burned by QBs who can run.
