Our turnovers in the 6 games - 12, 18, 12, 15, 18, 22. That's really where the game was won and lost. Thankfully for them, that's under their control. They can fix those, improving their handles, improving their reads of not driving into crowds, not trying to milk too many fouls and losing the ball, those are all things they can fix.

This. If we had a traditional PG who can handle the ball and facilitate, we probably don’t see so many turnovers happen. It may be time to sell Smart while he’s at an all-time high as DPOY. I ask myself if we turn the ball over like that with DeJounte Murray as our PG and my answer is “probably not.” Do we also lose some defense/passion? Perhaps, but at the margins we may be further ahead. It’s about razor-thin margins going from runner-up to world champion. We’re close.

Team full of mental midgets. Watching them crumble under the pressure this series, especially my favorite player Tatum, was sad to see.. We need a better bench 5 points aint gonna cut it in a preseason game nevermind an NBA finals elimination game. I know hes a rookie coach but Ime crumbled as well.. What a waste of such a great turnaround this season

imme was outcoached all series

miami also
Yeah it was quite sad. I know coach Spo and Kerr are both top tier coaches but still.. Ime made zero adjustments and just couldnt get these guys heads out of their behinds. Zero plays being called, it just seemed like a freelance offense out there. And not getting them to take care of the ball after doing it all series long is unacceptable.

And what was with his rotations? We start out 12-2 and then he subs in white for some reason and then he plays white, pritchard, and grant at the same time with our backs against the wall. We started the game with a clear effort to get inside the paint and bully curry and then he goes small and gives up a 21-0 run LOL

i am absolutely sick and tired of not just players who either do not listen or who do not get it after 6 years...........AND why does stevens and imme get away from what is working? insanity. we coulda won thos series. this was no juggernaut. we beat bigger teams in the bucks. we had size advantage and refused to use it. just dumb coaching.
Agreed. We made the ECF 4 times out of the last 6 years and they finally break through to the finals and just crap the bed and fall back into bad habits. Theres no silver lining here, these guys should have been ready for the big lights but they werent

Excuse is it's their first NBA Finals Appearance whole ECFs are old news

I had a ton of fun watching them sweep the Nets. As frustrating as the 2nd and 3rd rounds were for various reasons, I had a lot of fun winning those matchups as well.

And the finals were all pretty good games. I totally get what the OP is saying about how hard it is to watch such a talented team shoot themselves in the foot over and over again but it's a heck of a lot better than not watching your team in the playoffs.

Hate to say it but overall I didn't enjoy it much. It was way too frustrating watching this team literally throw away games. They showed some toughness but they got by on talent more than anything. Maybe one day they can actually match their talent with mental capabilities.

I loved it.

I love these players and how they grew this season.

They just kept fighting, just kept coming back from being down. They stayed together despite adversity and poisonous fan negativity - including on this site; they proved the naysayers wrong.
'I was proud of Marcus Smart. He did a great job of keeping us together. He might not get credit for this game, but the pace that he played at, and his playcalling, some of the plays that he called were great. We obviously have to rely on him, so I’m definitely looking forward to Marcus leading this team in that role.' - Jaylen Brown, January 2021
