Honestly I expected a game 1 schedule loss, I’m glad that they rested Horford and Smart, that will be huge for Thursday

Not at all worried.  Miami played one good quarter.  We've struggled in the 3rd these playoffs, and we didn't have Smart or Horford.  I'm actually less worried about this series than I was before this game.  They're not that good.

Gonna saybit again for those in the back...18....ft ....for butler

If he's getting touch fouls all game we will not stand a chance.
Nah. The foul shots are easy to beat, we just can't have Brown not show up until the game was basically over, nor Tatum throw 6 turnovers in one quarter.

C's didn't help themselves, but hard to get things going when fouls are being a called all the time which allows their defense to get set.

People are forgetting that Miami was the best team in the East and the #1 seed. They are a tough team to beat. This team won’t go away. It’s just one game and I’m pretty confident of a Celtics bounce back in game 2.

Sad second half effort. Unfortunately this was the best chance Cs had to steal a game in Miami imo. Considering Smart might be out again and Horford will miss at least 3 games, Miami likely makes quick work of the Cs. Cs don’t have enough quality depth.

This 3 games stuff is nonsense. It's not even clear he has Covid. Ime said Al is questionable for game two. Plenty of guys have just missed one game.

Also, why was this the best chance? This is probably the worst chance for us. Coming off an emotional series tired and having to travel versus them being rested. And that's not even counting the fact that we were down two starters, or that we have been just as good on the road as at home this season, especially this postseason. We won twice in Milwaukee, including a critical game six. We can take any and all of the remaining road games as long as we're reasonably healthy. We probably don't even lose this one if we had just one of Smart or Al available.

Yup that's a joke. They give.tons of days off at the start of the playoffs but when guys are tired it's nah...we need ratings.

How did Grant only get 2 shot attempts from 3pt this game? He played 35 mins. Might be a good idea to get your best 3pt shooter involved in the offense… Sigh.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Prtichard may score 20 tonight.  I feel it in my bones.  That, or it's going to rain...

Or maybe Pritchard is going to make it rain! Lol

No shame in 18/5/4 in 30 minutes.  Good game by Pritchy.

This is a hilarious panic post. You're inventing timelines about our guys who are out, and your comment about "our best chance" to steal a game in Miami just makes no sense.

Should still win this series but if we are inevitably going to lose it would’ve rather have just lost to the bucks because there’s 0 chance Giannis loses to this heat team

Agree. Giannis would have killed them.

We won three quarters and still lost.  That third quarter has got to be one of the worst in Celtics history.

I don't know how a supposed Title contender gets outscored by 25 points in a quarter at such a critical time. Just totally embarrassing watching Tatum throw the ball to MIA for easy lay-ups and Brown and gang throwing up bricks. Even TL got stripped 3 times in the first 3 minutes of the period.

Playing two days on the road after an emotional game 7 with two starters out. That's how. We had the chances to win and didn't take advantage, but we should've never been favored to win this game given the context.
