Keep it. There are so many pointless NBA games. They need more games that matter.

I've always thought it was dumb and that hasn't changed as rarely do I think, man I wish that team had a shot at the playoffs.  Sure it happens where sometimes the 9th seed has a winning record and you kind of feel bad they didn't make the playoffs, but the 10th seed has almost never been good enough to make the playoffs, yet we give them that chance.  No point.

If you want to do something, maybe make it, but only for teams that are above .500 or within x number of games from the 8th seed.  At least then it is more merit based and not some random garbage team making it in.  I know they wouldn't do that because you can't plan for it, but at least then it feels more earned.

I like it. Makes the regular season matter more. Teams want in that top 6. My only concern was there would be no sellers at the deadline, but both deadlines have been super active.

What I thought would be a good alternative is when/if the league goes to 32 teams they can have 8 divisions instead of 6. The NBA could then operate like the MLB in terms of each division winner goes directly into the playoffs and the best of the rest goes into a wildcard.

IMO, that is the fairest most logical alternative that isn’t just a cash grab. Plus having only the winner of the division moving to the playoffs would create genuine division rivalry.
