Smart played well again. Only two 3pt attempts and 8ast with 1 TO. Maybe Ime finally got through to him?  :D

Also, seems like Tatum is officially out of his funk. Thank god..

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

So Q of the night, does DS still start after Jaylen and Timelord are back?
I don't think he starts, but I believe he will finish a lot of games. Our death lineup will be Smart, Schroder, Brown, Tatum and TL/Horford (depending on the matchup)

Does Ime see now that Kanter is a consistent contributor if given consistent minutes ?

Really sad that Kanter had to complain on Twitter to get minutes though. That shouldn't have to happen.

Don't attribute to malice that easily.

He was out of shape and terrible on D.

He's improved. That's what practice and watching film can do.

Also, our other guys kinda played themselves outta the rotation by stinking it up in their (limited) minutes.

He has averaged 21 points a game over the last 5 and really has hit his stride.  It would suck to mess with his playing time and push him back to the bench.  He is almost the 3rd scorer we need in the starting lineup.  I am a Timelord fanboy, and I almost feel like we should try DS starting with a DS, MS, JB, JT, AH lineup..

Ime pulled the talent a bit too quickly.  scrubs aren't handling this with any competence at all
It's ridiculous that Hauser and Nesmith look completely clueless as to how to break a press when the point guard is doubled. They're NBA players!

They are going to need reps at some point. Taking everyone out might've been a bit premature.
Ime is incapable of spreading the minutes, lol. Looks like a young Thibs with the way he wants to run our good players into the ground
Yes either he overplays the top 6 or 7 because he can rely on them or he puts the rest of the bench in terrible positions to succeed and loses faith in them too quickly when they make mistakes.

Did Romeo got injured? He only played 7 minutes..

He looked good out there too. Would have been nice to see him get more run.

Only 7 TOs for the game.  That'll win you some games.

Don't disagree with that at all, he's still terrible on D. Just interesting that as soon as he complained on Twitter he started getting game time. Though to be fair to Ime Timelord has been out as well.

I think Ime realized he had to modify his switch all strategy and incorporate some drop coverages for Kanter because Kanter can't switch on to quicker wings on the perimeter and he didn't want to change it until he had to.

I would like to see that starting lineup, but I think it would be better to have TL with them and Al to steady the second unit

Yeah that might work as well too, Al could maybe focus on scoring more with the 2nd unit.  I honestly don't have any idea what we should do.  We have 6 guys that deserve starter minutes.

I think he will still get plenty of time with the starters. It's not like they do wholesale subs of "group 1 out, group 2 in" these days. What will probably happen is that he will come in when one of JT or JB or Smart goes out, and we will always have at least one or two of our main scorers on the floor at all times which will be better for us overall. So our first unit and second unit will have overlapping players, because JT, JB, Smartacus or Schroder will always be on the floor at any time. Right now our bench is underperforming which probably adds to the pressure of having to play JT, Schroder and Smart big minutes. Tonight our bench outside Richardson scored 12 points and 10 of them came from Kanter.

Just noticed that my profile upgraded from Josh Richardson to Al Horford thanks to the TPs received today. Much appreciated guys. Feels a lot better to be big Al than JR, even though he is playing just fine right now.
