I'm going with the Mavs to go to the finals. Idk I'm getting 2011 Mavs vibes from them, and the Warriors have been looking pretty meh. I have a feeling Doncic is gonna cook Wiggins and Thompson.

The Mavs have been a different team since moving Porzingis for Dinwiddie. Not as epic as the Celtics second half of the season but not that far behind it either.
They've been amazing since the New Year.
yep. Only Suns had a better record (Mavs had 1 more win and same losses as C's)

Mo, you had an absolutely brilliant take on this series that basically nobody else had. And I and a lot of other people where dead wrong on it. (You could have won a ton money if you bet on this btw) So I’m gonna give you ten tommy points (unless I get suspended for the rest of this message.) you have a lot of very intelligent takes, impressive historical knowledge, and good observations like how bad Paul was without rest in the playoffs. But you refuse to ever admit when you are wrong (even when it is clearly a losing argument), bash the Celtics to the point of trolling (saying bucks are a clearly better team than us and may only lose cause they are missing Middleton even though we should have won in 5 or 6 and absolutely destroyed them in multiple games. Then you add in your absolute vomits of posts on the 76ers and hinkie and it becomes so frustrating because we all know you can do so much better. I’m not sure how much more I am gonna even bother debating with you unless you can adapt at least one half ounce of humility, but I know I am not the only one that feels this way. I know a lot of the board wants us to continue with you being skip Bayless and me being Zach lowe, but seeing your brilliance and trolling so close together so closely was probably last call for me. I will keep giving you ten tommy points in the meantime.

Wow what a shellacking that was. Humiliating how much lack of fight they showed. And Ayton only 17 mins? Might be on the outer.

It's a yearly thing for their careers but yet every year people try to change that narrative and act surprised when it happens again.  It's just what they do so everyone may as well expect it.

Eh, 29 teams don’t win a championship every year. I wouldn’t say CP3 choked, just got hit with a case of the olds.

Harden is a bit harder to crack. He’s always been a bit of a shirking violet in big games.

CP3 is just old, although he has been on alot of teams that blew series leads or blew it in the big game. to lose that way at home, game 7 is embarrasing. I mean booker and CP3 combined for 3 points!

Harden has a history of coming up small in closeout games. pretty sure he had a 12point game 7 before so its not surprising. But what is more shocking to me is his quick decline. i mean he was cooking in houston just a couple years ago. guess the lack of conditioning and partying has finally caught up with him. was funny hearing Embiid say it.

now harden has wrecked two franchises. the Nets traded away a good team (that made the playoffs without kyrie/durant). and now the sixers are stuck. you cant pay this guy the max. but you let him go and its Embiid and a bunch of nobodies. the "process" has been marred with poor decisions...

I'm hoping for more of an 06 Mavs outcome. None of the role players on this Mavs team are as reliable as Kidd and Terry IMO.

Yeah for sure. I believe Chris Paul has been on 5 different squads that have blown 2-0 leads now.

As for Harden, I really think the end of the season with Brooklyn messed with him. Good news for Philly I guess is that he’s going to opt in to his player option and hopefully he gets a proper offseason to shape up

I just don't know if Harden is washed or the hammy was causing him problems.  I'd lean towards the latter since even this year there was a 2 month period or so, when Durant was out, that Harden was playing at a near MVP level.  I'm guessing the hammy was bothering him more than he just in the period of a month fell off a cliff.  It will be really interesting to see what happens with him going forward both contractually and on the court.  I do think the best option for him is to opt in and play out the year and see what happens.  Though I'd absolutely consider (both from Harden and the Sixers) some sort of extension of 3 years, 100 million added to the end of the 47 million (so 4 years, 150 million total).  Not sure either side would feel real good about that, but that does make some sense in that Harden is locked up 4 years at very good money, but not max money.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Everyone needs to watch First Take. Patrick Beverly and JJ Reddick talking basketball with Stephen A Smith. The eye rolling from Beverly when Stephen A. said stuff was worth the watch all by itself.

Beverly with some great takes, showed zero respect for Chris Paul and Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton and everyone on the Bucks not named Giannis. My favorite was when Stephen A. brought up Grayson Allen struggling, Beverly said "Who? Grayson Allen don't get no play in league locker rooms. Who you gonna complain about not showing up now? Pat Connaughton? Who are they?"

And they don't have a Tyson Chandler. That IMO is why the Mavs fortunes changed. A good defensive/rebounding big to protect the rim.

Hard to see Boston or Miami not exploiting that. Dunno about the Warriors. They don't really have great size. Their bigs are versatile defenders, which is important considering the Mavs perimeter scoring - but they won't be raining down lobs and dominating the boards the way we theoretically should.

Bev's comments are telling. Chris Paul gets superstar calls from the refs. Obviously he and the rest of the league knows Giannis does too. It's awesome to hear NBA players knows what we know and that's the refs are corrupt

He's totally right. That's why our two way play is taking us to a banner. Two way play is even more important in the playoffs!
