I watched that Knicks game, and my main conclusion was how depressing it would be to be a Knicks fan. BKN didn't win that so much as the Nets lost it. They couldn't hit a free throw to save their life, they turned it over time and again, and they missed multiple layups. Terrible team
7-27 for Barrett to go with 7-12 from the line. I wonder what Knicks fans think of him. I'd be ripping my hair out if one of the Jays put up a shooting performance like that. Bad nights happen but man, have the self-awareness to realize when you don't have it and stop flinging. I get that Randle was out, but s***.
I am sure both Jays have had games with that bad of a shooting performance. Maybe multiple games.
Any scorer is going to throw up stinkers. I'm mostly just perplexed by the commitment to throwing up bricks. I feel like most high-usage players kinda recognize that they're damaging the backboard and dial it back somewhere around 20 shots or so.
This season alone, Brown has had games shooting 13 of 36 (1 of 13 from 3), 8 of 24 (2 of 8 from 3), a bunch of games in the 7, 8 or 9 of 20, 21, 22 range and a bunch of games where he was 1 of 8 or 9 from 3 or 2 of 11 from 3.
Similarly, Tatum (against the Knicks no less) was 7 of 30 (2 of 15 from 3), was 10 of 32, 8 of 24, 9 of 24, a bunch of 7, 8, or 9 for 22, 23, or 24. And those guys are in the beginning of their prime and not in their 3rd year like Barrett.
We just don't remember all of the stinkers because they are just so good, even as recently as last season Brown threw up a 5 of 23 game where he was 3 of 12 from 3 and just 0 of 1 from the line.
