Phoenix is overrated.  They can't bully Luka like they tried the Pelicans.  The man's a legend.

They are blowing them out?

They weren't when I said it.  8)  Dallas is a one-man show though, unless Brunson shows up.

Dallas can win if they shoot excellent. They have a lot of players like kleber, Bertans and dfs can all get hot. But their frontcourt is awful so it can get ugly like this if threes are not falling.

I agree.  Bertans had 3/4(?) threes in the first half on Sunday, and Finney-Smith finished with 8 threes.  They're fighting an uphill battle though.

Crowder appears to have injured himself by trying to shoulder charge a Dallas player. Looked like a dislocated shoulder to me. He ended up fouling out in the process with Phoenix 20 up and a few min left and went straight to the locker room

Hilarious stuff going on with 1 second left…Biyombo tries to dunk the ball and Chriss took exception to it given Phoenix had a 20+ point lead…Biyombo is not from the US so showboating at the end probably doesn’t have any stigma for him. They ended up going down the same tunnel and it was funny seeing the fat security guys scurrying after them and dragging Chriss back out and making sure no funny business happened  :police:

Silly to see these guys pretend they're going to fight.  They're all much smarter than that.  Malice at the Palace days are long gone.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Home teams have blown out the away teams in Game 5 today to take a 3-2 series lead.

Hope to be the same for the home teams tomorrow!

But the 2v7 seed on both conferences have been highly entertaining. Not a lot of big leads except for G3 of the warriors Grizz series but otherwise its been a helluva that predicting who will come out on top of each game has been difficult.

I too hope that our team may have found the formula to beat the Bucks...tbh its probably those mid afternoon games and long lay offs that are doing us in but we shall now see in G5.

I’ve watched foreign basketball occasionally and they differently treat end of games differently. If they have a breakaway they almost always will dunk it. Sometimes they even shoot threes up 20 with like 5 seconds left.

By the way there was a pretty good article on espn a few months back about star hunting or just having a superstar isn’t the way to build a team a team anymore. In the past there were times just rolling the ball out with Gianni’s, Durant, jokic, Embid, doncic would guarantee you win the series. Teams would always talk about star hunting. I think because of a combination of the super max and teams really improving on picking on a teams weakness depth and a bunch of good players is now better than one superstar.

I wanted to find that article for a read but ended up finding out Adreian Payne was shot dead..

I'd like to read that because I've never found that to be true.  Yes, you've historically needed a top 5 player to win championships, but those guys lose playoff series all of the time and do so to teams that don't have those top 5 type players.  And if you look at the champions the last time there wasn't a champion with a clear cut top 5 player was the 14 Spurs and before that was the 04 Pistons (though it is certainly a real possibility this year - Boston, Miami, and Phoenix all could win this year and don't have an arguable top 5 player).
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Say what you will about Kyrie Irving, but I'm not sure many NBA players of his calibre would open themselves up to their streaming channel like this:

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1480806992

I haven't had the time to listen to all of it, but what I have heard he talks a little bit about leaving Cleveland, playing for the Celtics & his knee injury. Obviously this is the most unreliable narration you can get, but it's still the sort of thing you never see NBA players do, so it's fascinating from that perspective.

I've just jumped around a little bit, but the Celtics stuff is around 43 minutes more or less, right after the Cleveland bit.

Will be interesting to see what both sides do. Kyrie has a player option, which typically star players opt out of for a long term deal, but I’d imagine teams being hesitant to give him one at this point. He also turned 30 a few months ago and smaller guards typically don’t age well…

(GM)Marks said they haven't had any contract discussions with Irving but said the Nets know what they're looking for.

"We're looking for guys that want to come in here and be part of something bigger than themselves, play selfless, play team basketball and be available," Marks said. "And that goes not only for Kyrie but for everybody here."
