Yeah, the FT exhibition the 76ers are putting on is basically my worst nightmare.  Not as a Celtics fan really, but just as a fan of basketball.  It's probably the least entertaining style of basketball imaginable.

As for Harden's defense, he's not actually a poor defender when he's in shape and engaged.  Obviously he's out of shape right now.  But I'd imagine that he'll be better on that end when the playoffs roll around.  ...assuming, you know, that he makes it there without pulling another hammy.

Who can Harden guard?

Can’t guard, Barrett. That’s for [dang] sure.

Can't guard Tatum, Brown, or even Smart.
Smart?   The Sixers would be overjoyed if the game plan is to give Smart the ball against Harden.

FT exhibition is also the most effective basketball assuming it is not a Shaq or Simmons shooting them.  Don't blame Harden and Embiid for being good at it.  Blame the other team for committing the fouls.

Depends on what he's doing with it.

If he's just trying to score on Harden 1-on-1, sure.  We probably aren't winning if that's our plan.

But if he's blowing past Harden to collapse the defense and then making the correct play, then that's a huge problem for Philly.  Smart won't win you many games as a scorer, but if he's setting the Jays up with opportunities against off-balance defenders, then we're in good shape.  We're at our worst when our secondary guys - Smart, White, Horford, Grant, Robert - are useless on offense.  Tatum and Brown have to do everything themselves and we get predictable.  But when those other guys are making positive plays with the ball, we're hard for anybody to deal with.

Sidenote:  I remember that Mitchell Robinson vs. Robert Williams was a serious debate around here at one point.  Definitely looks like we got that one right, in hindsight.

Phamtom calls and a lot of the Possum falling down. Not fun to watch...

TIMELORD can do more things but Robinson is taller but with a two-inch shorter wingspan. TIMELORD also has a much better BBIQ and is more mobile.

Not a debate for me.  I wanted to draft Williams after his freshman season when he was projected late lottery before he chose to go back to school.  And I was begging in the draft thread for Ainge to trade up to get him when he started to fall into the 20s.  Still can't believe he fell to us at #27 with both the Lakers and Sixers ahead of us.

Watching Suns-Jazz is so refreshing because midway through the 2nd quarter, both teams have a combined 6 FTAs. If this were the Sixers Embiid and Harden alone would have 20 combined attempts by now  ::)

You are, and have been for like 8 years, over the top in your support of the 76ers. Wake me up when they get out of the second round (which is possible this year) but at this point they don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt.

How in the world is my post in any way over the top for the Sixers?  Any team would be overjoyed if the Celtics game plan prioritizes Smart.  If I'm the Sixers, I'd much rather have Smart against Harden than Tatum against Harris.  As far as matchups go, the Celtics may be the worst matchup for the Sixers in the East.

It literally disappeared
