I wonder if Toronto starts to sell parts in exchange for longer term building blocks? Siakiam has been rumored to be available/moving. Could VanVleet also be available?

It'd be hard for us to get him, given I assume the idea would be to pair him with Smart. Although that might be the worst back-court FG% pairing in the 3 point era...

It's tricky. He's a strong offensive player, but his efficiency and size are significant weaknesses. Also an inconvenient salary
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Not a fan.

- Do not like his salary. I believe he is wildly overpaid.
- More of an undersized scoring guard than a true PG. I believe Lowry does a lot to hide VanVleet's flaws as an offensive lead guard. I do not trust VanVleet's decision making particularly in terms of when to shoot, when to playmake or when to take a back seat and facilitate. He leans to heavily into hero-ball (individualism) over setting the table for the other four guys on the court with him.
- Do not like his shot-happy ways. I believe he'd be a bad fit next to Tatum and Jaylen. A shot-stealer who takes shots & opportunities from them.
- His lack of shooting efficiency makes him a so-so fit next to other offensive weapons. His lack of shooting accuracy. He is more of a volume shooter so his effectiveness is lower as a result especially on a team with more scoring options ahead of him than he does in Toronto.

Didn’t the C’s just trade away their starting 6’ undersized SG. Why would you want to bring in another?

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

If Bucks win championship, there will be a push by other teams (including Celtics) to get bigger/longer. That's how it the league works. It's a copy cat league.  Trading for Freddy is not the way to do that.
