Given this off-season has been dominated by head coach movement, I was curious who does fellow CelticsStrong bloggers believe will make the jump from player to star coach.

I think one of the most obvious choices would be Chris Paul. If coaching is a career he would look at pursuing in the future, CP3 seems like a basketball genius and I am sure players would respect just based on his playing career alone.

Rondo is another but I am curious if his ego would get in the way of any future coaching success. It would be interesting if Rajon & Chris could continue their rivalry into the coaching side of the NBA.

Andre Iguodala seems to like someone who has the personally and intelligence to success in the coaching ranks, as does Shaun Livingston.

Who else can you see succeeding from player to coach?

The two players you have mentioned are the obvious ones that come to mind. I am pulling for Chris Paul to win it all this year. Just seems like his body of work on the court deserves it. And he was robbed of a decent opportunity to join the Lakers where he probably would have won.

Another name that could make the transition is Draymond Green. He has been shown to make perfect reads on the court, and position his team mates in the right spots. It also seems like he will get in anybody’s face.

Very true, i think future generations looking at his bio will wonder why someone like Paul who was so revered, move around so much… but CP3 has been the victim of circumstance his whole career.

One major what if for me is if Chris Paul is picked by Utah instead of Deron Williams, do him and Jerry Sloan work wonders together just like John Stockton?
