Two thoughts - it wouldn't surprise me at all if ownership is pushing him out the door.  2nd - Time to go outside the organization. They need some fresh ideas and viewpoints.

I wonder how much "Being the Celtics" (and not, well, Mia/Lal/Lac/Nyk/Bkn/etc) hurts our front office these days.

Yep. Social issues aside, he’s a pretty good GM! I’d like to see someone of his caliber take the reins on the rebuild around Tatum

Agree entirely. We need someone who will be more active in the trade market. Danny made some fantastic moves and picks but seems to have lost a few miles per hour off of his fastball in recent years. Obviously, his casual remarks regarding the issue of racism haven't helped. Massai would be an excellent choice.
