NBA about to see Tatum is a player that can carry the league. Will they want him in Boston?

There is always a need for the Boston Celtics to be an annual contender in the NBA, even in this era of the warm weather glamour markets that the modern players value so much. Bill Russell still has cache' but most of these kids think Bob Cousy was a friend of Abe Lincoln's. Tradition and historical pedigree means very little to them.

But maybe this gives us hope for the future.

Tatum does seem to like playing for the Celtics. He gestured to the remaining fans after his post game court interview and talked about his excitement for a full house on Sunday ....... and in the face of Irving's race baiting comments.

I gotta think Tatum would love to win titles in Boston, put his jersey in the rafters one day and retire a beloved Celtic.

Honestly, I'm just glad they didn't lay down when the Nets went up big early.  In my heart of hearts I was hoping Tatum would show some of the offensive dominance he'd shown in recent weeks and not the smothered shell of himself he'd been in the first two games.  It's going to be tough for the team to duplicate what they did tonight. 

I give Thompson a ton of credit for setting the tone and Tatum for stepping up. 

There was one possession that stuck out to me tonight.  The Nets were making a run, and playing frantic defense.  Durant was all over Tatum, and instead of cowering, Tatum fought through during on a quick spin move and dished for an open shot.  It ended being an empty possession, but it showed that Tatum had the mindset to fight tonight.

I just want Tristan to get tons of respect after tonight's game. He played hard and he set the tone.

He’s taken some heat and maybe he deserved it in the reg season. But he gave the team some fire.

He for sure deserved it in the regular season but I thought when we went down 15 in the 1st quarter, he was the only guy playing with energy and swagger.

Yeah he deserved it during the season, but just the same he deserves the 'hustle award' tonight.
He was a beast on the off glass, just going all out the whole time, even when having to guard Harden or KD.
Really loved the effort from TT.  Just do that every game and he will become a hero.  We don't need that many points, we just need the attitude and hustle and effort.

Not been the same player since his "relationship" with Kardashian. She made him soft, but not tonite.

That’s true but KD and Harden did explode for 80 points combined too so....

maybe the biggest was the unspectacular step-back 17-footer he buried with 48 seconds left.

What was overlooked in this game, was how Joe Harris tried to get tough with Romeo, he wasn't having any of it though.
