Garnett had a say in Kyrie stomping the logo, and quite frankly, he's right. Nobody did a thing to stop/retaliate/responded to him-- not cool.

This team is soft starting with the coach down to the last/15th player on the team.  ::)

Exactly - Just wait til the last game of the series which will be followed by, as Larry Bird calls it, a hug-fest love-fest between our Celtics and Kyrie. I miss the days of Rondo and Garnett leaving the court quickly after a bitter loss. They had no use for loving it up with their old AAU buddies on the other team.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

I feel like this is a real dangerous time fit the franchise. That Kyrie is creating a whole thing out of this. Now stepping on the face of the Irish caricature logo. Like black players will be deemed as sell -outs if they play for the Celtics.

Your concern sounds a bit over the top - but you may well be right.

That's because the league markets to an under 30 crowd - one that seems to just not be as attracted to conflict as us older folks. Conflict is actually what makes sports compelling - at least to me.  Take it away and I can easily find something else to do - which has been the case for me for much of this season given the lack of fight in this edition of the Celtics.

Yeah I remember. PP34, Garnett, Rondo all walked off the court after Game 7 loss to Miami or in 2011 when they fell to Miami. No handshakes, hugs nothing. Except for Ray, but bleugh Ray.

If KG was still on this team, he'd be making half this team cry.

Irving talking smack about the fan who threw a bottle at him?

Look back to Nov 5, 2018 when Kyrie threw the basketball to the Denver stand and commented that the ball deserves to go into the crowd after a crap move like that, justifying his move when Murray attempted a 3 at the final buzzer when they were just about wrapping up the game.

What a hypocrite. He should be in jail like that Celtics fan last night. That poor Nuggets fan could've been seriously hurt.

Nice find.....I guess he didn’t want to keep it basketball in that game.

I'm guessing they're focused on how to stop the entire Nets team tonight to avoid the end of the season. The last thing they want to get involved with is a tit-for-tat that's not really basketball related. They have many, many more things to worry about. Let's have a response on the basketball court. That's why we have alumni like KG to defend us, they're no longer playing.

Great find.  Irving displaying subtle racism :o  Unhappy with another black man getting some shine in his building and putting fans at risk ;)

Is this a real thing?

The answer is Yes, sort of.

This specific thing did not happen, but KG and Rondo did walk out without shaking hands against Miami in 2012 (so end of the '11-12 season):

https://boston.cbslocal.com/2012/06/09/kg-rondo-leave-court-before-game-ends-without-shaking-hands-with-heat/

While Pierce and KG walked off the court without shaking hands against the Knicks in 2013:

And, for slightly unrelated reasons, the Celtics also did it in 1988.

I seem to remember a similar style of "a complete lack of sportsmanship" when LeBron did something similar when the Cavaliers lost to us right before he jumped ship to the Heat, so I suspect it's just a lot people holding other teams to a different standard, which is to be expected, really.

For the people who like pictures more than words, though, there's a few photos out there of pierce and KG hugging folks like Kobe and LeBron after wins and losses. So, y'know, who cares?

Because we as fans hate other players, we want our players to hate those players too, to validate our own hate. Unfortunately it doesn't really work that way. They're all ultimately part of the same brotherhood that we will never be part of, that of an NBA player. These guys do public events, charities, media appearances together. They may share the same agent. And even more so these days that everyone has cellphones and social media they're connected in ways that previous players never were.

But that's ok. I personally don't need them to hate the opposition, I just need them to beat the opposition. I'll do the hating from the safety of my couch

The bolded is accurate, and I think it also applies to similar things.  Specifically, I think a lot of fans want the coach to be an avatar of their own emotions.  Throwing clipboards when the other team goes on runs, throwing players under the bus in the post-game presser, tantrums when the refs miss calls, getting ejected or picking up fines when the refs miss several.

There are valid reasons to be disappointed with Stevens right now, so this doesn't apply to everybody.  But I also do think a lot of people struggle to identify with a guy who isn't as emotionally turbulent as they are, and that adds to their distaste.

Cole Buckley, the 21 year old fan from Braintree who threw the water bottle at Currie, could face up to 10 years in prison for “assault and battery with a dangerous weapon”.

10 years is a bit excessive  maybe a couple months will be punitive enough to act as a deterrent to others? I’m not sure how these sentencing things work.
