That Gobert block on Morant was amazing.

Ja Morant might have the most ‘almost’ highlights I’ve ever seen
The hate on Aubergine Artis is incredible.
Aubergine Artis is fantastic. Hadn’t heard that one before.

It is pretty crazy. Leagues best defender and a top 3-5 rebounder yet people act as if he’s no different from DeAndre Jordan or Clint Capela.
People were slinging around ridiculous names like Baguette Biyombo and Escargot Ezeli so I thought I'd give it a go
Regardless of the disrespect Baguette Biyombo is fantastic.

Johns Collins with 0 points 2 rebounds and 5 PF in 15 mins of play. Guess that’s why Atlanta doesn’t want to pay him. Pass.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I've never been impressed with him. He's a good scorer but he brings absolutely nothing else to the table. So if he's not scoring, he's just a body on the court.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Oh, I thought you were talking about Kemba there for a minute.... :P

Kemba would at least take a charge or two.

John Collins needs the offensive system designed around him. Atlanta's unwillingness to do that is causing most of his inconsistencies. If Collins is able to move to a team that would prioritize his game (and he should try to force his way out), he will blow up as a player.

What Collins needs is to be the sole interior big man. He needs to be paired with a stretch five like Giannis is in Milwaukee next to Brook Lopez. That will free up the paint and allow Collins to attack the paint more both in PnRs & post ups where Collins is terrific.

Pairing Collins instead with a paint only big man like Capela forces Collins to spend more time (an inordinate amount of time) on the perimeter where he plays to his secondary offensive talents (outside shooting) instead of his primary talents (paint scoring). This leads to less scoring opportunities, lower efficiency scoring opportunities (long jump shots) and a decrease in high percentage easy paint scoring opportunities. All of which lead to increased levels of offensive inconsistency.

Easy problem to fix.

I was watching an old game the other day from the 2001 season with a young Antawn Jamison playing for the Warriors. John Collins has a lot of Antawn Jamison in him. Both in the positive sense (scoring prowess) and the negative sense (lack of defense).

I like that comparison for John Collins.

Jamison was playing SF in those days and beating up smaller wings on the post. Then when they'd put a bigger body on him, Jamison would use the threat of his jump-shot and his superior quickness to attack the basket and blow by slower guys. He got a lot of buckets in the paint and gave some perimeter offense as well.
