The other day someone wrote that he’d rather see a donut coach the Cs than Mark Jackson. I agree. It wouldn’t even have to be a very good donut. Like, one of those no-filling, no-glaze old-fashioned donuts would be okay.

I guess if Jackson coached we wouldn’t have to listen to him broadcast the games, but it’s too high a price to pay. Can’t they take him somewhere else?

those old fashioned donuts are the best don’t compare them to Mark Jackson’s coaching.

Part of me wants the Celts to end up with a coach like Mark Jackson just so all of the fans currently clamoring to get rid of Stevens because he's too calm and nerdy will have a monkey's paw moment.

Jeff Van Gundy works with Mark Jackson. Jeff's brother Stan is the head coach for New Orleans.

You're right. Get those names mixed up.

Some of the trades maybe, others meh!

What got me was PP and KP, the JVG and MJ.  OMG, heck no!

If we're going nuclear, Zarren as Basketball Ops and Kara Lawson as HC!

"let him smile on the sidelines of some other team that isn't winning a title, or any big games!"

Hurts, but funny and true.

"This would also mean NBA fans in general don't need to hear them call games anymore!"

hey you might actually be on to something.

TP for a great post.

Also, if it were possible to do some sort of combination of trades that ended up with Kemba Walker being on a different team and Lonzo Ball and Rajon Rondo being on this team I would be legitimately ecstatic.

it's a bit concerning to me that some people seem to have read those parts of this as even semi-serious

donuts wouldn't be able to grouse about the refs and the players' lack of effort in press conferences OR yell at the refs and players during the game, which are the primary functions of an NBA coach

My only small quibble with the suggested course of action is that you have not addressed the Waters and Edwards situation...

Considering their draft position, I like most Celtics fans assumed they’d be shoe-in 1st ballot HOFers by now. Can we trade them too and have them be someone else’s disappointment already...? Also, we don’t want them to take away shots from Tacko. He should put up 40-50 FGAs a night so he can develop more quickly.

Other than that I give this an A+ and would like to thank you for writing up one of the few trade proposals here lately worth reading. Well done!

You're right, ideally we would find a way to exchange Edwards and Waters for some other team's G-League caliber deep bench guys.

Javonte has to stay, of course, because he's best friends with Tatum.

Pull a Spurs and tank the season. Get everyone healthy, and play the young guys. Next off season you are in better position to shape the roster via trades and a higher 8 to 12 lotto pick.

If they could just frequently rotate G-league guys from different teams in and out of the roster at random that would be ideal. That way you‘d always have that ‚let’s see what the new guy can do‘ sensation going each game...

But it would be great in the press conference - approaching Belichick in its ability to stonewall.

Karalis: “Donut, what were you thinking in the 4th quarter when the team went into iso ball?”
Donut: “ .... “
Karalis: “Donut?”
Donut: “ ....”
Celtics host: “Next question...”

The donut would at least glisten, maybe even melt a little.  That's more than BB.

Point Belichick.

How to fix the Celtics? Get better players and better coaching.

How to fix the NBA? Get better referees.
