Bengals are finally going to win a title.
i hope!!!! Been a Bengals fan since 1980

That's about two years before I became a Pats fan.  I grew up a Vikings guy and they're still my second team.  But being in the NAVY, I found myself gravitating back to my NE roots and the Pats.

Congrats on the win yesterday.  I  have no skin in the SB, hoping for a good game, that's about it.

Rams vs Bengals.  I dig it.

Yawn.

Why yawn?  There's a lot of star power, and two star QBs who have never played in the Super Bowl.

Who were you rooting for?

Yeah, I agree. I have as much interest in this as any non-Patriot Super Bowl.

I was not surprised that Garoppolo came up short but I was surprised that Mahomes kind of lost it at the end, made some dumb plays.  He seemed to lose his cool a little.

Anyway, not sure who I will "root" for in this one, probably Cincinnati but really not sure.

The crazy thing is, 4 of the last 6 playoff games (spanning two weekends) ended in game-winning, last second FGs.

And 1 of the 2 that didn't was still an OT TD by KC against BUF, and then the Rams won yesterday on a GW-FG with less than 2 minutes left. Lot of close, exciting games.

I know that SF has their QB of the future, and that Aaron Rodgers is rumored to be headed to the Broncos.  But man, that 49ers team is one quarterback away from being seriously good.

I wonder, if SF had a crystal ball, do they stay at #12 last year, instead of trading up for Trey Lance?  They could have grabbed another elite defensive player in Micah Parsons, kept their first rounders in 2022 and 2003, plus a third rounder in 2022.  They then would have had a solid chance at signing Rodgers.

Speaking of Rodgers, is he really a lock for Denver?  I hear they may have an opening in Tampa these days.

Imagine if the Niners got Brady, or even someone like Stafford. They'd easily have a SB in the past few years.

Regarding Rodgers, the Broncos have the most to offer and I think the Broncos are another really good team that is a QB away (similar to how they got Peyton Manning in the mid-2010s). With that said, I wonder if the fact that he has to go up against Mahomes and Herbert in the same division actually gives him second thoughts. Raiders also could have a good QB in Carr or whoever they trade for.

One team that I think could be a scary darkhorse for Rodgers is.... the Pittsburgh Steelers. They have a fantastic defense, a few good playmakers on both sides and really if the Steelers add Rodgers and one good RB to go along with Tomlin as the coach, watch out. They're suddenly a real threat in the AFC along with BUF, CIN and KC.

I'd say the Titans would be wise to get rid of Tannehill and add someone like Rodgers but I don't think that's realistic since they already signed Tannehill to a 120M deal (lol). But the Titans are like the Niners, good coach, great team, but the QB is holding them back particularly in big moments.

I don't see what is so attractive about Denver. When it comes to Rogers, I agree that Pittsburgh would be a great pairing, but also Cleveland. The Browns feel like their loaded, but are a quarterback away. I still think the 49ers are out of the question, since Rogers is known to hold grudges, and he still holds it against them for not drafting him #1, but instead picking Alex Smith.

I’m finding the idea of Brady faking a retirement just to usurp Jimmy G again hilarious.

The Broncos have a lot of talented young receivers (Sutton, Fant, Jeudy, etc), a top 10 pick, and some reasonable cap flexibility.  If Rodgers has a good relationship with his most recent OC, then that is obviously another draw.  And of course, they do have the recent history with Manning making two Super Bowls and winning one in his twilight years.

Yeah, that thin air adds more zip to the fastball.

Good defense, too.

They also play in a very QB rich division and there are other great options out there that fit a similar bill.  The Steelers and Browns, for example.  On some level even the Raiders look more appealing.  The Niners or Bucs.  Even the Dolphins look like they could be very good with the right QB.  Playing the Chiefs, Chargers, and Raiders twice a year just doesn't sound great to me.  Obviously if he went to the Steelers he'd be similar with the Bengals, Ravens, and Browns, but at least there only the Bengals have a great throwing QB (and then whatever you view Lamar as).

I don't see Jimmy G as being a downgrade from Stafford.  Stafford is a good QB, not great, can be counted on to make mistakes.   How agonizing must it have been for Rams fans to watch the play clock running down and Rams not set play after play (not just yesterday's game).

What a dreadful thought -- Rodgers to the Steelers.  If I were him I'd be angling for a good offense in a warmer climate after dealing with Green Bay winters for 15 year - he's a California boy.

This is a pretty impressive hot take, NG!

4900 yards and 41 TDs for Stanford.  Yes, also 1.0 INTa per game.

Stafford had a good year.  I'll be very surprised if he can finish in the SB.

Jimmy G has a better career Passer Rating than Stafford.  He also has a better TD%, Yards/Catch, and several other metrics.  Stafford is a much more prolific passer though so his totals are way better.

The Washington Football Team is now the Washington Commanders.

Meh.  I was hoping they'd keep the "red" in their name, like Red Tails.  I also liked Hogs.
